The Year that was..

The year..what a year it has been for me. and for the country as a whole.

I started bloggin in 05..I left the chat rooms and found more intelligent life and "friends" in Blogs like Jenn, Alice , Daisy, John Q. Public, dear sweet Kate and ALL those folks listed over in my sidebar..It became a political outlet as well, waking me up to what I had lost many years ago, my right to dissent against an oppressive government that does not represent ALL its citizens the same. I became politically active again and now have a life outside this box called the Internet. My newfound "politicalness" has given me an outlet that I have craved since moving to this hell-hole known as Bakersfield. I go to city counsel and board of supervisors meetings, standing up and speaking my mind to a bunch of ol codgers with their own agendas. I helped organize a political event that made the evening news, and I saw my mug on three of the four local TV stations plus the local newspaper reading the names of the Californians killed in Iraq. I have made local contacts and acquaintances with others that believe as I do here in this Republican stronghold known as the San Joaquin Valley. I am an active member of MoveOn.org and the Democractic party(I am registered Independant)...all because I started blogging. Funny how things work out ain't it? Karen Zipdrive's blog , a funny, intelligent, irreverant Texan was the one that woke me up politically and I love her and read her blog(daily if not hourly sometimes) and forever will be in her debt for putting a foot in my ass and getting me pissed off enough to do something other than bitch about our government.

Enough about moi..now on to the shit that changed and/or affected America:

Katrina and its devastation. The governments lack of response to an area that is mostly poor and black. The Tsunami and its massive effects on whole countries, towns and populations.

The war in Iraq. Over 2100 Americans have been killed and tens of thousands of Iraqi's have died as well. There is no light at the end of this tunnel yet..but the left continues to fight against Bush's tyrannical evilness in a war that smells more and more like Vietnam.

Speaking of Bush...his "lil friend" and Cheney's main man Scooter Libby was the first among hopefully many indicted by Fitzpatrick for lying about Plame-gate. Going after a man's wife when he pisses you off is so screwed up. Tom DeLay, Jack Abramoff, Bill Frist, and too many others to mention that are in trouble for lying, cheating and generally screwing with the public trust known as government. Stay tuned folks.. this mess is far from over and should only get better in the coming new year.

FEMA's main main Michael Brown is finally exposed for what he is: a rich kid that cant find his ass with both hands, but he sure wants to look good on TV...and he worries about his dog WAY too much to the detrement of all the dying and suffering people in New Orleans.

Enron, Tyco, Worldcom and countless other executives finally get busted, charged and tried in our courts for syphoning off millions of dollars for their own personal greed.

The world of sports, my favorite world btw... had its share of newsworthy items: steroids, T.O., the NHL took the YEAR off, the Yanks DID NOT win their 27th World Series but the Chicago Whitesox did win their second since 1917,and finally..the worst..MY Padres won their division with a winning record that was one game over .500... they were promptly sent to the showers in 4 straight by Bruces ( whom I love with a passion like no one else in this world cept my son)Cardinals who also didnt win a World Series either.. god knows why the Cards didnt win a ring maybe... but I sure has hell dont.

Bear with me folks..

I am trying to figure out this new template..Jenn made it for me..i love this woman..jenius is a genius!

What Santa (aka UPS) brought me for Xmas!

I love the Tommy Hilfiger boots..and the Steve Madden sandals although I can do without the crap on the base..the bongo sandals are just knock arounds for this coming summer..and..the bongos only cost me 99 cents!! yes women..i said 99 cents..ebay has sooooo much good stuff and if you play your cards right you get it dirt cheap..and their all from a reputable store..not a private seller..gothamcityonline has an ebay store for their overstocks..it rocks!!! The most I paid for anything was 50 for the Hilfiger boots and thats 10 bucks less than full price.

I was disappointed in the purse..the opening is so friggin small a hamster could barely get in there..

As a public service announcement..we present

The IVR Cheat Sheet.

I fucking hate those Interactive Voice Response call centers. Thats why so many people are unemployed dammit. I realize of course they are a neccessary evil..but that doesn't mean I have to like em..or deal with them if I am extremely pissed and foaming at the mouth about something. I also wonder about the person or people that sit around figuring this shit out.

I will post this on the sidebar..and you can bet your ass I will use it.

My kind of Dear Santa letter...

Click on the letter to enlarge it...or dont.

It was 1967...

that John Lennon graced the first cover..of the Rolling Stone..a magazine that is still a business operated by one man, the founder Jann Wenner. He owns 60 percent while his ex-wife owns 40 percent. He is also still the head cheese, running the magazine as he has from its inception..His right hand man, Kent Brownridge is retiring at the start of the year, some folks say at the boss's request. Bear in mind that Mr. Brownridge has been running the show at RS for over 20 years and he's no spring chicken to put it bluntly. Neither is Jann Wenner who turns 60 next year..but afterall..he is the boss.

He borrowed the money to start it from his future in-laws, a mere $7500..that in and of itself says alot. The RS was a major player in investigative and political journalism at its inception, mirroring the leftwing views of its founder Wenner. Top notch writers and photographers such as Tom Wolfe(The Right Stuff,Bonfire of the Vanities), Hunter S. Thompson,David Weir, Lester Bangs, Chet Flippo, Joe Klein, Tim Cahill, Tom Hayden, David Harris, Cameron Crowe, Joe Eszterhas, David Felton, Tim Ferris, Ben Fong-Torres, Howard Kohn, Jon Landau, Dave Marsh, Annie Leibovitz, Greil Marcus, Grover Lewis, Abe Peck, John Morthland, Paul Scanlon, Marianne Partridge, John Burks, Timothy White, Sarah Lazin, Charley Perry, Michael Rogers, Roger Black, Ed Ward, Charles Young, Christine Doudna, Harriet Fier ..the list is endless..all wrote for or photographed for RS. Wenner made them all stars and he got rid of them when they grew too big for their britches or clashed with his ideals or his viewpoints. It hasn't been published in San Francisco for years..its out of NYC now.

I remember reading it when it came out in pulp form, like a newspaper. It was cutting edge back then politically..now its a shell of its former self. It's not on top of the music biz anymore either, refusing to showcase rap or hiphop artists for the most part. And its glossy and glitzy ...like Jann Wenner himself.

But its still making money and occasionally it breaks new ground although not often enough for me to subscribe or read it anymore. In 2007 it turns 40 years old.

....which makes ME feel very very old.

A Christmas carol of sorts..baseball style..

This little gem is courtesy of Scott Miller who writes for sportsline.com I like Scotts sense of humor..some yanks fans might not..but ask me if I care. You can see the rest of his xmas carols here.

This lovely number is sung to the tune of "Winter Wonderland". Only 52 days,3 hours, 21 minutes till Pitchers and Catchers report!!!

Steinbrenner rings, I was listening
Overnight, the Stadium's glistening
A beautiful sight
Leaving Fenway tonight
Walking in a Yankees wonderland
Gone away is the long hair
Here to stay is the short hair
Singing a love song
Me and Jeter go along
Walking in a Yankees wonderland

In outfield we can build a snowman
Then pretend it's Manny Ramirez
He'll say: Am I traded? We'll say: No man
So you can stay and sob In ol' Beantown
Later on, we'll conspire
As we dream of Boston's funeral pyre
The plans that we've made,To face unafraid
Walking in a Yankees wonderland

In the outfield we can build a snowman
Then pretend it is Manny and his frown
We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman
Until Sheffield and the Unit knock him down
Oh the Yanks, ain't it thrilling
Gonna beat big bad Curt Schilling
We'll frolic and play, the Steinbrenner way
Walking in a Yankees wonderland
Walking in a Yankees wonderland
Walking in a Yankees wonderland

A powerful one-man show about a powerful man.

I couldn't sleep Friday night..I had worked over 14 hours and I was wired up bad. It started at 12:30am on Encores' Drama channel. It is entitled: A Huey P. Newton Story. It was directed by Spike Lee.

Roger Guenveur Smith wrote the Obie-winning play about Huey P. Newton, one of America's true and only revolutionaries. He wrote the play in 1996 and made it into a film in 2002.It starred Roger as Huey Newton. Its only 90 minutes long, but it was a fantastic, fast paced 90 minutes. It was produced for television by PBS. It goes thru the life of Huey Newton as told by Huey himself on a stark, dimly lit stage with only a solo spotlight on the character. It starts with Huey's birth in Louisiana and the family's move to California. He talks about his father and the impact he had on Huey's life. There are moments when actual historical footage of Huey and events surrounding his life are shown on a screen behind the character as he speaks. He sits in a chair and tells the story of his life, with insight into many of the events that made him one of the major figures in the rise of black enpowerment that Huey, Bobby Seale, David Hillard, Eldridge Cleaver and several others created inspite of the governments attempt to hold them down and discredit them.

I met Huey once in my life and I will never forget it. I use the term "met" loosely, I was not introduced to him. I was only a background person, I went unnoticed by the mostly black individuals in the room. I was young and impressionable. I was awed by the man. His fast speech, his ability to hold everyones attention by speaking in a low but unwavering voice. Roger captured Huey incredibly well, his speech patterns, his constant body movements. Huey Newton was very intelligent and he refused to be beaten down by the government and the white establishment at a time when America was in turmoil and did not know how to deal with the growing leftwing movement against the war, the creation of the Black Panthers and the awakening of black america who was tired of all the injustice foisted upon them for decades.

This film is a fantastic history lesson for those too young to have experienced that time in America's history. It delves into Huey's mind and what made him tick. The movie went much to quick for me, and I wanted more, I wanted it to go on all night as I sat on my bed and watched it in the darkness, the only light coming from my tv. I learned from the movie that Huey played the piano, classical piano. He was one of 7 children. He went to law school which was his parents wish. He was very shy and couldnt dance, he had no rhythm and this bothered him greatly as a teenager. He could quote T.S Eliot, Shelly and Shakespeare...but he could not dance. He talks about his father and the kind of man he was, working 2 or 3 jobs at a time to support his family.

See this movie if you can. Make yourself find it and spend 90 minutes learning about a man that many feared and few really knew. I know that it will show again Tuesday December 27th on Encore's Drama channel. The human side of a powerful man who's personal demons took him down when J.Edgar Hoover tried and failed.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS YA FREAKS!

I am not in a good mood..i just found out the new hire is refusing to work this week..her first week alone I might add..this bitch is on my last nerve already..I gave her one friggin store and she cant do it..meanwhile I will be working fri, sat AND...drum roll please..XMAS fucking day..

oh yeah..and the ball and chain had the nads to ask "how you gonna make xmas dinner honey?"

My response..get a tv dinner and a beer dipshit..when i get home from work on xmas I plan on getting drunk..course i wont but I can still plan it right?

I can see it now..my scrooge mcduck ass walking around supermarkets on xmas day..mumbling incoherently to myself and glaring at anyone that has the balls to say merry christmas to me.

I wish I still owned my glock..i would clean it and practice shooting the eyes out of my george bush picture that I usually throw darts at. Then I can sit outside the new hires house and blind the bitch when she leaves to go to her other job on monday morning...then drive up to San Jose and do the same for my boss. By then there will be a state wide alert for me and I will end up doing time with some mean ass females that dont appreciate my sarcastic side..

maybe getting toasted is a better idea..i can then make life miserable for the ball and chain all evening..wait..i do that already..ok..i could just get drunk and listen to old rock cds real loud..ac/dc, gnr,aerosmith..make the windows vibrate..

hell i will be so tired I will just go to sleep..who am i kidding..

enjoy your weekend folks..kiss your loved ones and thank god your not moi.

HNT Pic for the week.

Here is this weeks HNT..its not moi but according to the rules it doesnt have to be..but I did take the pic.

I love all the elements within this tattoo. The female with the devils tail does jack my jaw but such women exist. The poker hand with the ace's showing..the martini glass, the dice..and the word below it..

its a detailed piece of work..ya gotta admit. Some tats are too busy for me to admire, they got too much going on..this one I find amazing.

This is Rob our bartender from the Malibu Inn.

A new blog to enjoy..

Its called: Princess Sparkle Pony's Photo Blog. and she does dress up a few photos that are hilarious as hell. But I love the writing too..its timely and sarcastic as hell..my kinda person dont ya know..

The link to this fine place to spend some time is here.

It was a family affair..

Not all were in attendance..my son was stuck housesitting my zillion pets and my brother and his brood just moved to Colorado...but other than that they were all there..for sometimes minutes only..but I saw them all..

and no one got bitchslapped, shot or humiliated...wow wee..

some of us got a tad lit..i must say that at the onset of this piece..and I was among that group of people.

Mommie Dearest was subdued..this is good news btw.

My dad and the ball and chain amuzed each other w/war stories and general bullshit.

Kass, the glorified YSFH(yuppie sista from hell) was a wonderful host and for once didnt ask me to serve, do the dishes or clean up for her. I was shocked. Thankful too. I would of hated to be the one that started some shit with all those "friends" of the family in attendance too.It could of gotten around town or to several places of employement.

My middle sista got a make over and it was great and uplifting for her, which makes me glad. Shes a sweet person that never pays attention to her looks and she is pretty.

My baby sista had her newest beau in tow, whom I think is a great guy and all around sweetheart. SHe has already found something to bitch about regarding him or his personality. she always does dammit...they dont last long with her :( The woman needs to familiarize herself with the art of compromise. Its part of life at every level..this is something it took me a very long time to learn..color me slow.

My niece was home from the army..she just passed basic training. this is the same neice that just got a degree in Criminlogy at Sam Houston State. She wouldnt take her fatigues off..i kid you not..shes so gun ho..its scarey..but if it makes her happy...They will pay for her Masters she says..and she really wants that.

But I did enjoy seeing them all..and some of our common friends too.

ok..a HNT exclusive..my new grille.

This is the bastard that has caused me untold amounts of pain and agony. As Daisy is fond of calling it..a new grille. It looks marvelous..has taken months to complete, I just got the stitches removed recently and it cost a bloody fortune too. But it has done wonders for my self-esteem and seems to be a big hit with members of the opposite sex. The ball and chain likes it as well, plus he isn't PAYING for it, I am.

I am still eating soft food. I want a steak dammit...

On Indy's perfect season..

If Dungy benches his starters, will he still go unbeaten? The Dolphins who played less games when they went undefeated, credited their amazing "no name" defense for keeping them unbeaten. I dont think Indy's defense is as good as the Dolphins was.

We all know the best defense in the world was OJ Simpson's. Johnnie Cochran kept his worthless ass out of prison when all signs pointed to his guilt....but other than that, the Dolphins "D" did rock..

Thought for today...

Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter

Mark Twain.

-i do mind for some reason..perhaps its the birthday bullshit tomorrow..ah well, fuck it..

The Death Penalty..wrong or justified?

With the execution of Stanley "Tookie" Williams tonight, I pondered my belief in the Death Penalty..do I still believe it is justified?

Tookie was nominated for 6 Nobel Peace Prizes. Should this spare him from dying for the deaths of 4 people killed in cold blood? He says he was innocent of those murders and would like to prove his innocence. The man has had 25 years to prove his innocence. He was convicted by an all white jury during a time when railroading black men into prison was the norm. Since Tookie was a co-founder of the "Crips" does the possiblity exist that he ordered other people murdered or took part in heinous crimes that he was never charged with? Should he be given life in prison when his victims got nothing more than two shotgun blasts to the back of their bodies?

People that I wanted to see executed never will be: Sirhan for Bobby Kennedys death, the killer of John Lennon, child rapists and murderers for example. I am ambiguous about Tookie. I think perhaps he should of been commuted to life since there was no physical or eyewitness evidence to connect him to these brutal murders. I think that if there is no physical or eyewitness evidence that no one should be put to death. This reasoning has evolved for me over the years since DNA has become prevalent in prooving guilt or innocence. The bibles bs about an eye for an eye doesn't have any bearing on my thought process. I fear that a truely innocent person might be put to death. Is a life in prison better than killing them? Personally I would rather be executed than spend my life in prison. I HATE when an obvious murderer can cop a plea and get out of execution, to me thats wrong in so many ways, those are the assholes that deserve to die..and not by the Politically Correct method of lethal injection, make them suffer as their victims did. Is that barbaric of me?

But Tookie didnt cop a plea, he never admitted guilt to these 4 murders. He changed his life for the good of society by writing many books denouncing gangs and the lifestyle. Some folks think that finding jailhouse "religion" is just a way to attempt to beat the system, that people still need to pay for their crimes. Tookie still hung with the gangbangers in prison, was his change sincere? In the end, does it really matter what he did after he was sent to prison? IF he really didnt kill those four innocent people, did he do other heinous crimes that justifed his death?

I woke up around 12:30, about the time he was drawing his final breath. I looked at the clock and thought of him, getting up to check to see if they had indeed killed this man. They did of course. It wasn't a smooth execution either according to the press that watched it. They couldnt find a vein in his muscle-bound arm. He offered to find it for them.

Is it time to end the death penalty? I dont know...but I will ponder it here in the darkness of my room.

A Recap of my weekend..with Pictures!

I spent Sunday hung over..its all this mans fault.

This is Rob our bartender for the evening. My son Brian and I spent Saturday nite at the Malibu Inn. Its a short drive over the mountains to Malibu for us and Joe Bonamassa was playing. The Malibu Inn is a fantastic venue for music, small, intimate and real nice staff..they are friendly and outgoing..which surprized me considering we were in the ritzy, glitzy area of LA that is frequented by movie stars and the like. My son hit on Sean William Scott's girlfriend until he realized who she was sleeping with. Sean is known thru his character Stiffler in American Pie and its sequels. My son had a short convo with Mr. Scott who was very cordial and down to earth...not to mention very hot looking.

Back to Rob. I love this man and would do him on the 50 yard line at half time, not to mention have his children but alas I am too OLD to have his children..lol..He was the BEST bartender in the western hemisphere..oh shit..THE WORLD. He could chat you up on any topic, which to me makes a fantastic bartender. He makes excellent cocktails and is very attentive, meaning you dont have to scream or wave your arms to get another fucking drink. He has some fantastic Tats which he let me get pictures of after I told him I would put him on my blog and make him Famous!!..we all know thats a friggin lie, but being the sweet-natured man he is, he happily obliged me...for the pics, not sex dammit..cant blame a girl for trying right? :)

You might wonder what myself and the kid were doing in Malibu..especially since that is WAY the hell out of our league..we went to see Joe and baby, I will go to the ends of the earth to see Joe Bonamassa. And since it was only two hours away, what the hell..the tickets were cheap, only twenty small ones..and a celebration of my birth was as good excuse as any to feed the ball and chain, don't you know. It was a tad early since my b-day ain't till THIS week..but who cares..we made the trek to Malibu.

Now, when the place starts filling up, they slowly remove all the chairs in the joint. Its Standing Room Only for the concerts. More folks can be crammed in that way. But..and this is a good part..we had the only seats in the place all evening. Brian and I took turns dashing out for a smoke so our chairs were never really vacant...we could see the bandstand from our seats front and center at the bar. Speaking of the bar, its a rustic place with one of the most beautiful wood carved bars I have ever seen in my life. The wall behind the bar where the booze was stocked was also hand-carved and just spectacular. Since we got there three hours before the music (note to self, next time call ahead and find out the concert time)we had our pick of seats and tried valiantly to nurse our drinks so we wouldnt be shit-faced by 10 when Joe B. went on. We succeeded..sort of. We were only half in the bag by 10 pm. Remember, my beloved Rob makes one kickass cocktail..he doesnt skimp on the booze. The kid was drinking some fancy draft beer..heffenwieser or some shit.

Any way..Joe's girlfriend Leah was there and recognized me when Joe was up doing his soundcheck an hour or so before the gig started. She ran up, gave me a big ol hug and we chatted for a bit. I said hi to Dennis the roadie and resident sweetheart and just cruised around smiling at all the much younger males in my midst. Quite a few smiled back and one in particular kept trying to buy me a drink after I told him he smelled good. I figured that when I introduced him to my 26 year old son he would back off but he didnt. Gotta give him an A for effort, good ol Hector was a gem and did wonders for my ego, plus he was a cutie with a nice goatee and dressed quite well.

The show was over round midnight and I piled my son into the dusty-mobile and cruised my ass back to Bake-town. There is this one road which to get out of Malibu is a narow, twisty, one lane on each side number. I feared that road but hell, I did just fine till I got back over the mountains and ran into some nasty ass fog. I mean fog so thick you cant see the hood of YOUR car type of fog. Slowing down to 15 mph to make sure I didnt run off the road was a good idea until the semi came running up on my ass and blasted his airhorn..FUCKER..i was in my lane dammit, and I dont know if he was just getting his jollys or had an issue w/my speed, afterall, you couldnt see shit! After the dipshit passed me, I stayed behind him and he was trucking right along at 55..

Made it home safely and spent all day Sunday bitching about my headache..but it was a nice evening and a great way to spend a Saturday Night..although the credit card bill will possibly give me another headache when it arrives next month.

Richard Pryor is gone from this earth..

But his ground-breaking humor lives on. He died tonight of a heart attack at the age of 65, and i for one will always remember his pioneering spirit. He never apologized for his persona or his comedy. He was fond of bringing up that he was uneducated but yet he was appreciated by people in all walks of life.

Steve Martin said: By expressing his heart, anger and joy, Richard Pryor took comedy to its highest form,"

In the 70's and 80's Pryor one of Hollywood's highest paid stars, and he was one of the first black performers with enough leverage to cut his own deals. In 1983, he signed a $40 million, five-year contract with Columbia Pictures.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington gave Pryor the first Mark Twain Prize for humor in 1998. He said in a statement that he was proud that, "like Mark Twain, I have been able to use humor to lessen people's hatred." This was one of his most shining moments and one he always cherished.

Like Lenny Bruce, he was a comedian that set the stage for those that followed him. God bless you Richard, may you be at peace now, your demons silenced. Pryor was only 65 when he died Saturday night of what his publicist termed a "heart attack".

I hate December.

It signals the end of the year, its fucking cold and the sun disappears for days at a time, its also the silly season with plenty of crowds at all my favorite shopping haunts. I hate Christmas Carols.except for the one by Bruce Springsteen.

oh yeah..its also the month my drivers license says I should celebrate getting another year older.

Screw that shit..I spit on age and what it means.

December means I will drive myself crazier than usual over not being able to locate something that I use daily or why various parts of my body quit working correctly or without pain. It means a cold front or rain will make me hurt somewhere.

It means whatever I dont like about my body or mind I blame on getting another year older.

December means seeing Mommy Dearest in San Diego. She makes her yearly trip from Missouri for three friggin months to make all our lives a living hell..but I only have to experience her for a weekend or two..thank god.

December means baseballs spring training is only 67 days 9 hours 19 mins and 27 seconds away. Thats a long fucking time dont ya know..

A Baseball post..sort of.

Carlos Delgado is now a Met. This in and of itself is not a bad thing. What does suck moist butthairs however is what the Mets ownership is pulling on Carlos. Carlos is from a small island which is part of Puerto Rico. This island, Vieques, has been used as a bombing practice site by the US for decades. People live on this island sportsfans. Yet, the US government continues to pummel it with various munitions to the detriment of its inhabitants and the environment. Carlos has spoken out about this and various other things he finds just plain wrong, including the war in Iraq. Carlos has chosen to not stand up during the playing of "God Bless America" during the 7th innning stretch. He has endured the cat calls and harrassement this personal expression has handed him. His former team, the Marlins did not attempt to silence Carlos, they allowed him to express his beliefs and utilize his right to dissent.

The Mets however will not allow Carlos this right. The ownership has made it very clear to Delgado that they will not tolerate any form of dissention and expect him to comply and stand during the playing of the song.Fred and Jeff Wilpon, the owner and CEO of the Mets said, "He's going to have his own personal views, which he's going to keep to himself." Jeffy also said "Fred has asked and I've asked him to respect what the country wants to do." THE COUNTRY IS TIRED OF THIS FUCKING WAR AND THE POLLS SHOW IT. So I have no idea which country Jeffy Wilpon is referring to.

During his press conference to announce his signing Carlos Delgado said "The Mets have a policy that everybody should stand for 'God Bless America' and I will be there. I will not cause any distractions to the ballclub.... Just call me Employee Number 21." Willie Randolph, the first Afro-American baseball manager told a reporter; "I'd rather have a man who's going to stand up and say what he believes. We have a right as Americans to voice that opinion." Omar Minaya, the first Latino GM merely towed the company line by saying "This is from ownership."

Fuck the Wilpons and their pandering to George Bush. I am sad that a voice has been silenced for no other reason than some narrow-minded owner doesn't want any controversy. If Carlos Delgado is willing to take the heat for his stand, they should support his right to say it. I support everyone's right to say what they believe, even if I think they are dead wrong. I might be a leftwing nut job but our democracy allows me to be one without fear of retribution from our government.

The only thing that Carlos can smile about is that he will now be able to wear the number "21" in honor of his hero Roberto Clemente. Its a helluva price to pay though..working for the Wilpons.

I refuse to title this post..

I am in a sour mood..too bad for you...or not..

I am sitting here with a cream soda and gin in front of me..I shit you not..I like raspberry cream soda and gin..color me strange..I also love Mango Gatorade..

I think its hard to post when your mind is tracking all the stupid shit you still have to finish before the evening belongs to moi...evidently I am throwing caution to the wind and blowing off the remaining "work" shit...fuck em if they cant take a joke, ya know?

Saddam is being a real prick and you can bet your ass I think they should hog-tie him to his chair like they did to various Black Panthers(Bobby Seale for one) when they went on trial in the 70's for trumped up bullshit. The BP's dared to speak up and defy the Judges and they bound and gagged them. I think thats good enough for Saddam too. I might be a bleeding heart liberal but that sumbitch needs to be cornholed..seriously...at the very least hogtied.

My fantasy football teams are taking major hits with Ray Lewis, Brian Westbrook T.O., and McNabb out for da year..god it makes me wanna cry...but I won't.

Trevor is staying w/the Padres, but my beloved Mark Loretta is now a Red Sox. That means his leaving is not all bad..

ND is going to a bowl game..Touchdown Jesus is smiling dont ya know..

And its still fucking cold in Bakersfrigginfield.

Come on, take the damn test..

I got this from listening to Sky Captains internet radio show. The link to the test is here.

Playful, kind, and well-loved, you are The Peach. For such a warm-hearted, generous person, you're surprisingly experienced in both love and sex. We credit your spontaneous side; you tend to live in the moment, and you don't get bogged down by inhibitions like most women your age. If you see something wonderful, you confidently embrace it.

Your exact opposite:The NymphDeliberate Brutal Sex Dreamer

You are a fun flirt and an instant sweetheart, but our guess is you're becoming more selective about long-term love. It's getting tougher for you to become permanently attached; and a guy who's in a different place emotionally might misunderstand your early enthusiasm. You can wreck someone simply by enjoying him. Your ideal mate is adventurous and giving, like you. But not overly intense. DREAD: The False Messiah CONSIDER: The Loverboy, The Playboy, or The Boy Next Door

Ok, whats this shit about woman MY age..thats bullshit..age is a number..not a frame of mind you assholes...

take the test, and provide us all with a good laugh and post your results.

Indy still unbeaten..the pricks. Big Joe Thornton changes teams and hits the ground running.

Will those guys ever lose this year? Its those assinine commercials that Peyton is doing..I swear to god it is..I look forward to them in a sick sort of way. I still hold a grudge for Irsay..the owner that spirited them out of Baltimore in the middle of the night. I was living in Maryland at the time..it was a travesty I tell ya..The Bengals are still in first and have a better record that the Patriots..who would of thunk it? Not moi..

One of the most promising hockey playas out there is now a San Jose Shark. I dont really know how that happened but good for them..we got one of the best on the left coast now..heh heh..I love Barry Melrose and he can lay in bed and talk hockey to me any day.

The playoffs will begin shortly in Fantasy Football. I will participate but with McNabb out..I am toast..oh.. and T.O. fucked me and didnt kiss me first either. I have a love/hate thang w/Owens. I know what a felony dumb sumbitch he is..but the man is one of the best at his positions..hopefully his dumb ass learned something from this mess of his creation this season. I love a team that tells a primmadonna to fuck off and go home, more of them should do it.Same with our elected officials..they need to purchase instead of renting those balls they flash occasionally. Stand up and be counted gents. Dont just follow the leader all the damn time.

The Padres did something right in the off-season by resigning Brian Giles..Trevor might leave but I have already accepted that fact. Spring Training starts in...oh hell, its too far out there to even think about it. Yankee$ raised prices on their choice seats..someone has to pay for all that high-priced talent that couldnt get it together this year. I was glad the ChiSox won the World Serious.no, thats not a typo..its damn serious to baseball fans such as I.

Tony Stewart, a hoosier native won the Brickyard AND the Nascar Championship. I adore that man and yes I love stockcar racing. If you have ever driven a car faster than 150 MPH you understand why it takes your breath away. I pick that number because I have and it gives me a rush I cant explain.

And finally..those fucktards in Congress are waisting our tax money and their time by investigating The BCS, College Footballs Championship Series..jesus christ in a thong, do something important you assholes and get our troops out of Iraq.

Thats all I got, time for my meds..Have a good weekend ya'all..

It was 50 years ago today..

Rosa Parks stood up for what she believed. She changed the course of history, beginning the end of segregation. Thank you Mrs. Parks. Jackie Robinson had already started his journey as the first black baseball player, but he had the support of the baseball teams management. Mrs. Parks had no one's backing but the NAACP and that was after the fact.

This small women changed our country in one brief shining moment by making her stand against tyranny and bigotry. We all need to remember her today, If only for a brief moment. We need to remember that all it takes is one person standing up for what they believe and things can begin to change for the better. She showed us that.

Thanksgiving sucked..but its getting better all the time.

I cooked food I couldn't eat. I bitched about it the entire time. No one had sympathy for moi but they loved my candied yams and stuffing. I comandeered the stuffing once I figured out how to eat it thru the pain.

I was supposed to work on Thanksgiving but I said "fuck da man" and stayed home. I think I am building up a tolerance for Vicodin dammit. The Vic's however did give me the balls to tell my boss to kiss my ass. She has now hired someone to take part of my work load and is flying down Thursday to kiss MY ass. Neat eh?

I am going to give in to the ball and chains incessant whining and go to Vegas for two count em two days..its colder than shit over there right now but who goes outside whilst in sin city? He's paying all the expenses plus...JOE BONAMASSA IS GOING TO BE THERE!

All three of my regular readers know of my love for all things Joe B. This could perhaps be the reason I let the b&c talk me into this short excursion. Plus I told my boss I was going and if she didnt like it she could take a long walk off a very short pier.

I went back to the Dentist finally yesterday..he got out the heavy equipment and fixed up my new hardware so it actually hurts less! Praise be to Allah..er to Demitri the Dentist. I still cant eat a fucking thing other than yogurt and soup but the pain is no longer constant.

There will be friends to visit with in Vegas, there are some making the trip from the farthest reaches of our fair country. I am still crabby however and sound like I have a mouth-ful of marbles when I talk. I will simply smile alot and take lots and lots of pain meds. I will not however make the same mistake as John Q. Public and mix booze and pills..for moi a small bowl of herb and a couple Vicodin will do me up just right. Its only 48 hours but I am looking forward to the diversion.

I will of course blog from Vegas, I have no life after the music stops....gambling is boring and since I cant drink what the hell else is there..oh yeah..a cheap hooker for John Q...should be fun..

Jenn my dear..I will chat you up tonite sweetie :)

Alice..thanks for the xmas gift..do you need my addy sweetie?

Bruce..have you purchased a JOE B. cd yet? if not I know what you are getting for Xmas wink wink..

I feel guilty as hell for bailing on my job.....NOT!!!!!!!

Hope my son doesnt lose any of my kittens in the house whilst I am gone..he hates keeping track of them for fear I will disinherit him when I return. Shit, half of nothing is still nothing right?

Have a good, glorious and grand Tuesday sportsfans!

Todays visual..courtesy of John Q. Public..a man of honor

my dental surgery went off without a hitch..i got a great smile and i cant eat anything harder than yogurt..with turkey day coming up..this sucks moose balls..but hey..means I dont have to cook!

My dentist is a trip..he was going to give me a prescription for a dozen vicoden..i told him to save it..i had some already since i got two blown discs..

he asked: how many?
I said: 90
he said: how many?
i repeated :90
he then said: could I have some?

when i went to blow my nose and couldnt due to the novacaine numbness up to my sinus cavity..he said: After we are done with your mouth, we give free nose piercings..my assisant will show you our selection of nose rings later..

I love a man with a warped sense of humor.

gotta go..the meds are kicking in..

happy thanksgiving..eat some good stuff for moi.. :)

Pete Rose Jr. pleads guilty to distributing drugs

The man has all the brains(or lack thereof) of his daddy evidently. He plead guilty in federal court to dealing the drug GBL to his minor league teammates. He faces a couple years in the federal pen and a hefty one million dollar fine. When taken orally this drug becomes GHB otherwise known as the "date rape" drug.

Fall and Football

T.O...is no mo..at least for awhile at the Eagles lockeroom. This is a good thing although you wouldnt know it by the game the Eagles played today..ho hum..from the penthouse to the outhouse for the Eagles. The wheels are coming off..an upbeat item is that Brian Westbrook played and kept his mouth shut. HE was rewarded with a five year contract.

The Bengals have a grip on first..yes..those Bengals..

Dick Vermeil is a freak..I love that man.

Touchdown Jesus got another win this week, whilst UCLA got their freaking clock cleaned. The Hokies lost their first game. It must of been grim in Blacksburg.

A female, Kim Ng has thrown her hat in the ring to become the GM for the LA Dodgers. She used to work for Steinbrenner. I dont know if thats good or bad. If she gets the job she wont be home in time to make dinner, you can take that to the bank. I don't think she's the best or the worst candidate for the job.

I finally got the wear my new fuzzy slippers this week. Its gotten fall-like..it could be a cruel joke, but I hope not.

Balco's Dr. Frankenstein indicted by Fed. Grand Jury

Patrick Arnold, esteemed scientist and chemist, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for conspiring with the jackass owner of Balco, Victor Conte to distribute the once-undetectable substance tetrahydragestrinone, referred to by Barroid Bonds, Jason Giambi and others as "the clear". Arnold, was known for introducing the steroid precursor androstenedione to the United States. Nicknamed andro, the chemical came to public attention in 1998 when St. Louis Cardinals slugger Mark McGwire said he used it the year he broke baseball's single-season home run record.

The drug pushers that ran Balco have all received reduced sentences, most likely for snitching out their suppliers like Arnold. Conte was sentenced to four months in prison and four months' home confinement after negotiating a plea deal with federal prosecutors. Greg Anderson, Bonds' personal trainer, was sentenced to three months behind bars and three months in home confinement after pleading guilty to money laundering and a steroid distribution charge. Anderson and Bonds have been friends since childhood. Balco Vice Prez James Valente was sentenced to three years' probation and track coach Remi Korchemny is expected to receive probation at his February sentencing.

OH YEAH..give me a drug that will shrink nads, possibly give me a tumor or cancer of the brain and/or liver, destroy most of the muscles and tendons in my arms and legs all so I can hit a ball out of the park, run faster or pitch the next day..athletes..ya gotta love their priorities..

The POWER of 1

Rosa Parks was buried today. This tiny little woman with her glasses sitting on the bridge of her nose has gone on to the other side.

I love what Barack Obama said today about her: "And yet when the history of this country is written, it is this small, quiet woman whose name will be remembered long after the names of senators and presidents have been forgotten."

Thank you Mrs. Parks for your contribution to our world.God Bless you and keep you with him sweet woman.

Wal-Mart, the high cost of those low prices.

This documentary opens today..probably not mainstream but it opens nonetheless..I am not a fan of Wally World..I hate them and their useless underpaid, uninsured employees. I hate their habit of going into areas and opening a ton of stores when just a couple will do. I think the majority of their products are cheap, horribly-made and will very seldom last past a year. The majority of their products are made outside the US. The founder Sam Walton, was a tight-ass of legendary status. That man could squeeze a nickel till it screamed. The employees are usually uneducated and in alot of instances bordering on mentally disabled, since intelligent people wont work for a company that pays so little and expects so much in return. Their benefits are non-existant unless of course your in management..THEN they take care of you, but not on the level of most corporations their size. There are now groups out there dedicated to bringing this huge corporation to their knees, and sportsfans, they do their homework. Walmart's growth has slowed to a trickle over the last few years and for this fact alone I am very happy. Two watchdog groups are at the forefront of taking down Sam Walton's baby..Walmart Watch and Wake up Walmart both of whom have the exec's at Wally World shaking in their collective boots. Walmart now has a war-room, hiring some of the best PR spin doctors in the business to change the way we view them. Walmarts stock as dropped drastically(27% since 2000) and the people they covet the most, middle america are shunning them due to bad publicity and high profile personnel problems/lawsuits. I love this part of the article regarding a report that Wally World itself commissioned : A confidential 2004 report prepared by McKinsey & Company for Wal-Mart, and made public by Wal-Mart Watch, found that 2 percent to 8 percent of Wal-Mart consumers surveyed have ceased shopping at the chain because of "negative press they have heard."

There is a very good article in the NY Times today regarding Wally's War Room and the people that oppose this corporations raping of America. The link to the article is here. If you shop at Wally World do yourself a favor and at least read the article or view the websites I have linked before you shop there again.

A Smoking Gun Exclusive.

At first I laughed when I read it, hence the title of this post..some jackass spent untold amounts of money to DRIVE to the Hoover Dam and see it, only to turn around and go home. Bet the kids in the family loved that..

but then I thought about it..and it does add up to quite a bit of money if you had a family of say..four or five. And they do hit ya up in drips and drabs..not all at once so most folks probably wouldnt notice it. And the other side of the coin is that it is fucked up that as a citizen of this country you gotta pay to check out one of our "man-made" wonders if your so inclined..our fucking taxes paid to build the sumbitch..well, theoretically anyway..but on the OTHER side of the coin someone has to pay the upkeep and operating costs on these huge gigantic "wonders" so..I DONT KNOW..do you? Its a subtle form of taxation my opinion. Can't they just sell the naming rights to some big ass corporation like say..Hertz? Sure it would no longer be the Hoover dam..it would be the "Hoover dam brought to you by Hertz Rent-a-car" or perhaps the Hertz-rent-a-car Dam. Hard to say, those corp's drive a hard bargin.

Reading names in the darkness

A group of people who didn't know each other held a candlelight vigil tonite in this redneck, po-dunk town I call home. When I went to the website last nite only 10 people had signed up to participate. This morning it was up to 25 and by the time I left to attend there were 33 participants.

We ended up with 35-50 strangers participating. That's fucking awesome here in bakersfrigginfield. I contacted the local branches of all four networks this morning, and they all showed up but one. Our vigil was the lead story on 3 of the 4 networks.

I started off the reading thanks to the co-ordinator, Carla. Her and I agreed on reading all the names, it took a bit over two hours. I got to read the 212 names from my state of California. The San Joaquin Valley has lost as many young men and women as LA..I didnt know that till tonight.

We had families and people whos ages were from 13 to 73 there. All with a common goal. The vast majority not knowing the person they were standing next to.

It was somber and moving.

I do NOT want to read another 2000 names. I want the war to end. I do not want to go through another decade of protest and raising awareness in my neighbors. But I will if I have to.

The 2000th American has died in Iraq

I try to keep my political convictions to the "other" blog but this one has to be posted on both. There are vigils everywhere tomorrow because people had pledged in advance to do this when the death toll hit 2000. Even in BAKERSFRIGGINFIELD we have one..we only have 10 people..but hell ya gotta start somewhere..

If your tired of the lies from Bush and his cronies if you find you can no longer support a war built on a foundation of deceit and half-truths, if your sick of the bullshit please attend one. this link will tell you where one will be held in your area, all you have to do is put in your zipcode.

Here it is again: http://political.moveon.org/event/events/index.html?action_id=29

show your support if you can. Every person counts..both here and the dead in Iraq. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be doing this again..I figured we learned something from Vietnam..STOP BUSH NOW..TELL HIM WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS WAR BUILT UPON HIS LIES..do it tomorrow..please..

Dunn and Crumpler pulled it out for moi

So...My fantasy team did end up winning..Dunn and Crumpler had great games..thank god!

Course the Stro's just blew a 4 run lead..so all is not well..

Another video but this one has a message..

This short video, done to the "Monster Mash" is courtesy of Clear the Air.org I got it in my morning newsletter from the folks at Tom Paine. Enjoy!

Shit week, the sequel...

Its such a fucking bummer to get a speeding ticket while on Company time..plus the timing of it couldn't be worse..my mood is..lets just say..blue..I was lucky the cop
said..he gave me a break..only wrote me up for 80 in a 65...I was going faster actually AND not wearing my seatbelt..usually I pay attention when I am attempting to break the sound barrier..but the second dead kitten of the weekend kinda put me off guard..

I got home just in time to see the Astro's go ahead..I thought maybe the day wasn't a total waste.....was I wrong? yeah..the ChiSox came back in the bottom of the ninth.. this overall isnt a bad thing..just that I was hanging my hat in the Astro's camp this World Serious..I mean Series..any diversion will do at this point, ya know?

I'm losing in the keeper Football League I am in,however I DO have two players going tomorrow night Alge Crumpler and Warrick Dunn please dont let me down boys I am counting on you like you wouldnt believe..next week I play the fucktard known as the ball and chain..we will keep any discussion of him to a minimum..I haven't figured out what to do and how yet regarding his massive fuckup..

This week holds another delightful torture session at the Russian dentist's office..I think he knew Stalin but I wouldnt swear to it..plus the ball and chain is trying to get me to take a physical, think he's getting life insurance on me or something? I wouldn't put it past him at this point..

but there was a highlight..some very cute cartoons from a beloved friend who knows all the gory details of Shit Week's one and now two.. she made me smile tonight..and GOD knows I needed a smile..and another point of view..
Saturday, October 22, 2005 | By: Unknown

So you've had a shitty week..let me tell ya about mine.

First off I am working like a dog for the marketing man..its taking its toll on my weakest link, my back and those two hosed up discs...but I got meds for that..

The ball and chain committed a class A marriage felony..seriously, I wont bore you with the details but suffice it to say..Divorce is the usual outcome for this type of offense,If your a smart cookie and I usually think I am most of the time..

This morning I went out to feed the litter of feral kittens in my back yard. The mother, who was a fantastic parent during her first litter has abandoned these. They are old enough to eat cat food, but they are not old enough to be on their own. Five of the little buggers took up residence on my back porch. They have of course grown on me. This morning when I did the head count..one was missing..He was still in the little bed I made up for them..barely alive..breathing very shallow. I rushed him to our family vet, a wonderful man that tolerates my habit of picking up strays very well by giving me free medicene and advice on how to care for them. He did what he could, but it wasnt enough.

I spent the rest of the morning crying and feeling very sad. About all the bullshit, not just the little kitten..he was like the final straw of "Shit Week".

I took a long shower..used ALL the fucking hot water..it felt good washing over me. Having the western worlds smallest hot water heater sucks in times like these..

A bright ray of sunshine popped into my otherwise shitty existance..Scooter was being his nosey self and stuck his head where it doesn't belong..he somehow got a large paper bag with those cardboard-like handles wrapped around his neck..He went flying thru the house doing laps with this bag trailing behind him, all the shit inside the bag launching out as he bounces off doors, couches, table legs..trying like hell to dislodge this bag from around his neck. He wouldnt come to me, he wouldnt stop moving long enough for one of us to grab it and pull it off him. His big round blue eyes even larger than normal. He finally got tired and parked it behind a couch which we had to move to get to him..to remove the damn bag..I almost peed my pants watching him fly down our long hallway with this bag bouncing around behind him..this is not the first time my dipshit cat has stuck his head thru a handle and wasn't smart enough to back out of it..guess he's like our dear President in the fact that he doesn't learn from previous mistakes..

sorry had to get the Political thing in there..

oh and the other highlight..Tommy DeLay our cherish (insert laughter here) and dethroned Majority Leader was booked this week..for his attempt to defraud the citizens of the great state of Texas by laundering money and giving it to Republicans running for office in said State. If you havent seen his mug shot..go to the smokinggun.com..he looks like he's at a fund raising event, big ol smile on his face..hope he wont be smiling soon...

The 101st World Series starts tonight..

Ok..it starts today, the World Series..its been a real shitty week at my house and I haven't spent much time blogging..or doing anything other than working my tired chubby ass off..

I have no idea who is going to win..I would like to see the Houston Astros take it, only because I am basically a National League kinda girl..and they have never ever been there, much less won one..Chicago White Sox last won it all in 1917.. ChiSox last WS appearance was like 1959..

Roger "the Rocket" Clemens will be the starting pitcher for game 1 for the Stros..Rocket is 43 years old..thats ancient by baseball standards..even more so for a pitcher..The Stros have only been in existance for 46 years.. When the Rocket tosses his first pitch he will be the first guy..i think..to have pitched a World Series game in three consecutive decades..also it will be his third team to play in the fall classic the other two being Boston and the Yank$. The Rocket has 7 count em 7 Cy Young awards, the highest honor bestowed upon a pitcher.

I feel both teams are good, both have excellent starting pitchers. The ChiSox hold a slim lead in pitching because their four horsemen can pitch complete games which is unheard of in this day and age.. The Stros have an excellent closer with Brad Lidge and two of their startes..Pettitte and Clemens have World Series experience. The Chisox are a team of home run hitters whilst the Stros depend on speed and small ball to get their runs across home plate..It should be a good series but Fox isn't happy since both are considered small market teams..I know, Chicago isnt a small market, but the ChiSox are the ugly stepchildren of Chicago..the Cubs are Chicago's team it seems..

Before Clemens mom passed away a couple months ago she said the name..Shoeless Joe Jackson(one of the Chicago BlackSox). Seems she knew the Stros would face the ChiSox..I hope Roger Clemens pitches one helluva game tonight and his mom is smiling down on him..She loved the hell out of baseball..as I do..I can't wait to see this man pitch tonight..a man who is almost as old as the franchise he is playing for tonight..GO 'STROS!!!!!!!!!!!

Tellin' it like it is..in Na'lins..

This is some raw stuff..its from the people that lived there..in New Orleans..its what they are going through NOW and THEN..and what they went through to get HERE and NOW...its more than some folks might be able to handle because its all true, the Oral Histories of the people that survived this act of nature..no News blips, no sound bites..just the "Alive Truth", an oral history of our times..in all its glory..or rather..all its depressing reality..read it if you dare..if you can't, then, admit that you don't want to know the truth, what happened to the residents, what went down..cuz here it is folks..read it and weep..if you can..the link is here.

This blog is never going to be funny all the time..its sometimes humanly sad, or real..depends on your outlook..Knowledge is Power, or so "They"say.. if you think this shit is heavy..go check out the political blog..its downright pathetic what we put up with from those boys we elected to represent us..

Thank you and now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

All the news that fits..

Did I call that game right or what? Pujols saved the Cardinal ass with a top of the ninth homer..Pujols is god..at least in the baseball universe..Cards will get to play another day..this time in their stadium..but Roy-boy Oswalt will be pitching for the Astro's..and he is good..very good..

Dick "Halliburton" Cheney is possibly involved in the Karl Rove debacle now being called Plame-gate..named of course for Valerie Plame, the CIA agent outted by someone in the Bush Whitehouse..Dicky will look real cute in prison garb..so will Karl Rove..and Scooter Libby..we can only hope sportsfans..the Grand Jury has until Oct 28th to indict someone..or if I had my way..ALL of them..

They finally voted on a New Constitution in Iraq..only they are questioning the results..seems there were too many "yes" votes in many of the provinces, 99% to be exact..Sunni Arabs are the minority and they are crying foul, saying some districts had more yes votes than registered voters..rut roh...Hope this doesnt take as long as the Gore-Bush election results did..or as messy..

Colts beat the bejesus out of the Rams Monday night..45-28..sounds like a college score if you ask me..Colts were losing 17-0 at one point..Tampa Bay who has THE best defense in the NFL and currently a 5-1 record has probably lost their QB for the season..that hurts..the backup QB has three years in the NFL..on the bench! Randy "big mouth" Moss took a helluva tumble sunday and has some bruised ribs, a strained groin and a bruised pelvic area while trying to make a leaping catch. As usual the Raiders fucked themselves with penalties even after converting third and fourth down's...morons..I missed Bill Romanowski's 60 Minutes interview Sunday night..I was friggin working..but I am sure he ran his mouth and tried to make others look worse than his steroid-taking ass. OH YEAH..he just wrote a book..reminds me of Jose Canseco..does anyone believe a word that comes out of his mouth? I rest my case. Joe Gibbs got a 10K fine for bitching about the calls in a Redskins game to the press..what happened to turning the other cheek there Joe? Now we know where Tony Stewart got his mouth at lol...Tedy Bruschi is ready to play football again, just eight months after suffering a stroke and having surgery to close a hole in his heart..I know the Patriots aren't doing too well this season, but I hope he's in great shape, he must really love the game..or need the money..

thats all i got..its almost time for the sun to come up..gotta try and get some sleep..
Monday, October 17, 2005 | By: Unknown

This evenings post is going to be very short..

We are getting a major storm..time to batten down the hatches and turn off the computer..

before I do...I think the Cards will win tonight..and therefore give themselves another day...

Football,baseball and any other sports..

Astro's won again..one more and they will be going to the big show..come on stros!

Chisox are almost there..Angels are down to their last hurrah..

Gotta go back to work..lata..

Oswalt was money tonight..

I think the only way the Stros will win this series is if Oswalt and the Rocket win, which Roy Boy did tonight...reminds me of the D'backs winning year..it was Schilling and Johnson that year...Randy coming in to relieve Schill..but I digress..

Mulder has been a disappointment to me this year..only cuz I had the sumbitch in like 10 fantasy baseball leagues..the Cards should be able to count on Marky Mark to hold the Stro's at bay..but they couldn't, he gave up too many hits to a team that usually has an anemic offense, Julian Tavarez did the rest of the damage from the Cards bullpen. The Killer B's of past years, sans Bags, showed up with Berkie and Biggio having great nights.

Next game Sat...Clemens will be facing Pujols..Prince Albert might not have anyone hitting behind him, with Reggie coming up lame (like thats news) and Walker is MIA for the playoffs..which means they could walk Pujol's ass every time he's up..who knows..I can't wait..

Bobbie and HNT

Thats Bobbie, the formerly feral kitten..

she really wanted to participate in HNT.

I finally gave in..only because Bobbie really busted my ass on this..and Bobbie always gets what she wants..she bugs me till she does..

Did you know...

There are three brothers in the League Championship series..two on the same team....all three are catchers as well..the Molina's...from Puerto Rico..Yadier, Jose and Bengie.

That ump in the Angels/ChiSox game tonite..shame on him..bet he doesn't work next years LCS.

Where the Hell is Fall?

I have been waiting oh so patiently for it..really, I have..I am tired of wearing shorts, I want to be able to wear a pair of jeans and be comfortable. I bought a pair of fuzzy slippers today in anticipation of cooler weather approaching and the b&c drug me out to look at a new heater for the house..boy was I fucking wrong...

its gonna be in the 90's this weekend..jesus christ..

oh well, the cats are getting a charge out of the new fuzzy slippers..I wont be wearing them any time soon..

Angels beat the ChiSox for game 1..I am winning in BOTH of the pay leagues I am playing fantasy football in..first place baby with an indentical 4-1 record! I am sucking ass in the 4 free yahoo leagues however..I am considering playing along on HNT...

I got nothing else..where the fuck is fall?

Baseball News..its the silly season..

OK....Stro's over the cards, their pitching is better lately..

Angels over the Chisox..just cause..but i wouldn't whine if the Chisox won either..

Managers getting tossed as well as a couple GM's..like Hart for the AssRangers as Daisy calls them. Then ZAM is a Stros's fan. For Cards blogger buds we got Alice and Bruce. Angels fans I count among Jerry as one of them. I dont think I know any Chisox fans on the web..

Big Brotha...perhaps..

I was over at the blog of a blogbud who was telling all the lurkers to post a comment since her hits were high but comments not even close..so for the fuck of it I checked mine..most bloggers have a site meter which provides lots of useless information..

Over on my Political Rant's blog I do not get squat for hits which is fine. I blog there for my personal right to express my beliefs and opinions on our government..I was going to close the site meter page when one ISP caught my eye..atfonline.gov..alcohol,tobacco and firearms came to mind..so I clicked on the hit to see more...kinda got my attention at 11:36 am on a Sunday, which is when they came to visit over there..Specifically my post about the latest bs on Karl Rove..this is what I saw:

Domain Name (I removed the website address)(United States Government)
IP Address 199.196.144.# (Executive Office of Asset Forfeiture)
199.196.144.16
ISP :Executive Office of Asset Forfeiture
Location

Continent :North America
Country : United States (Facts)
State:Virginia
City :Dulles

Its a restricted site for the Department of Justice. Bunch of government mumbo jumbo on the webpage so I closed the window quickly. But the city location is very important. Dulles is quite close to the Pentagon..I know because I lived down the road from the Pentagon for years in Northern VA. I never went to the Pentagon, I never had a desire or reason to go there..plus its not like you can tour the friggin place..

Now a blogger friend said..bfd..she gets hits all the time..bored civil servants reading blogs..everyone does it at work now...but the DOJ..and a restricted site to boot..usually you can not surf the web when you work in a restricted capacity..they dont want hackers getting the web address and fucking up the servers and such..or worse yet, taking information from them..and since I am not a hacker, I would not have a clue on what to do or how to do it..

I just hope those sumbitches arent' monitoring my blog and I hope to hell they enjoyed the shit out of my commentary about Karl Rove :)..as Zombieslayer and others like to point out..we got the First Amendment on our side..freedom of speech..but that doesnt stop the Bush Administration from attempting to curtail our freedoms and our rights using the Patriot Act as their free hall pass. Bush calls those that oppose the war in Iraq evil and Unamerican..I call it my right to be left of the center.

Bum call sinks the Angels..

well, it was bum..ain't no doubt about it..but they will play again tomorrow, in Anaheim.

The Braves put up a valiant fight..freaking 18 innings..2 games worth for gods sake..what an epic..Stro's advance with the Rocket pitching relief..fucking classic no? Can't wait to see the Rocket against Pujols..who has thunder thighs like tree trunks..but i digress..

Ozzie and the ChiSox are kicking it till Wednesday when the League Champ. Series get underway...in a little less than 2 days...I am not going to put up the time..mainly because Sportsline isn't running it for the LCS...lol..

Astros moving on up..

Braves lost again..poor Booby Cox..I was rooting for the Astros dont you know :)

Its going to be the Cards and Stros..both from the same division..could get ugly sportsfans...

tonite its the Angels trying to slam the door on the Yank$..GO ANGELS..KICK THAT NEW YORK ASS!

sorry bout the caps..

The pain, the horror..

when your starting Pitcher can't get out of the second inning..yes sportsfans, Woody Fucknut Williams is the Cardinals MVP of the game..he gave them a 5-0 headstart tonight..

But the 'Stros won....so I say Go 'Stros!

The Angels/Yank$ game was rained out..its gonna be a busy Sports Sunday here..the Angels can take it all tomorrow..to the chagrin of all Yank$ fans..get out the voodoo dolls kids..

The Padres played their first(and last for this series I am quite sure) playoff game in their new home, Petco aka PetFood Park..its a spacious field, utilizing part of the history of downtown San Diego as part of the Outfield wall..Larry Lucchino, the head cheese for the BoSox was at the helm when the design and layout took place..as he was for the O's Camden Yard. He has his stamp on alot of teams in MLB..

Have a good sports sunday, I know I will with Foosball, Hockey and two playoff games.

A moment of silence on a moment in time...

The Red Sox..they got swept..after winning it all last year from the Wildcard spot..they got swept like the ugly step child by the Chicago White Sox..it was only a 5 game series..so it took 3 games..but it sucked ass..and hurts...sniff..sniff..I am so depressed..but on a lighter note..the Evil Empire got their clock cleaned AT HOME by the Cali/Anaheim/Los Angeles/Orange County Angels tonite..so the monkey-waving fools can lose tomorrow and the final game will be played on their home turf at Anaheim Stadium..we can only hope sportsfans..its all I got left to hope for..the Padres are pitching Woody fucknut Williams tomorrow..and I dont have a good feeling about him..they will get swept at home..a win would be nice, but really it will only prolong the enevitable..Stros still got a shot..

I am all verklempt..talk amongst yourselves..i know i have alot of typos..ask me if i give a shit..

ok..it cant be real, but its sure friggin funny..

I was over at Kitten's blog..and she posted a link to what purports to be Harriet Miers blog..you know..the old crow that has never been a judge that Bush the moron put up for the next Supreme Court Justice..its a hoot..go check it out..someone put alot of time and effort into this puppy..hey it killed the better part of an afternoon for moi, what can i say?

Padres are down for the count..CARDS will be advancing to the next round of the playoffs..thank god hockey started up..and still a month and a half for Foosball..

WHERE'S THE F**KING REMOTE HONEY?

I worked a long day yesterday, got home in time to catch the yank$-angels game. All I wanted to do was stretch out my tired body on the big ol bed accompanied by various cats and dogs..and watch one of the days games..

I couldn't find the remote..the ball and chain had used it last the evening before..so i went up to the living room and asked the question..where is my remote dear?

His response..I dont know..my next response..you used it last dear..find the fucker..

now..ESPN is on channel 102..the tv was set to channel 7..brillant deduction says thats alot of pushes on the manual button but i went for it..only took a min or two..and cramped up my tired fingers..but hey..i was there..

The ball and chain finally brings his ass back to the bedroom..he looks around the same areas i did..gee its not here..no shit sherlock..

He says..the cats must of done something with it..I say:ok, which one of you cats picked up the remote and hid it? fess up you bastards..

None of the cats said a word..they just stared at me..

The ball and chain starts wandering up to the living room again..i jump in front of him..YOUR NOT LEAVING TILL YOU FIND THE REMOTE ASSCLOWN..i say rather authoritatively..

he starts whining and i hold up the hand..i will hold YOUR remote hostage till you find mine..i say sweetly with a smile on my face.

he had to crawl under the bed..which is where i figured it was to begin with..this is a major undertaking for his ass, he is short armed and has a gut that would make a trucker proud..

he slaps the remote into my open palm and gives a look that should of struck me dead..i hand him back his remote for the living room TV..thank you i say, nice doing business with you!

he mumbles incoherently whilst walking the half block back up to the living room..

The angels won..it was worth pissing him off for.. :)

At least the 'Stros won today..

with that said..another funny tale...this one borrowed from the "funny girl network".

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates, and suitcases. On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things. On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candle light, put on some soft background music and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay. When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells, dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days. Then, slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything, cleaning, mopping and airing the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked. People stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused to work in the house. The maid quit. Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move out. A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house. Word got out, and eventually even the local realtors refused to return their calls. Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place. The ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going. He told her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely and said that she missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back. Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth, but only if she would sign the papers that very day. She agreed, and within the hour his lawyers delivered the paperwork.

A week later, the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home -- including the curtains and curtain rods.

Don't you just love a happy ending?

Photobucket isn't working it seems..

which explains why none of my pics and graphics are appearing,fyi..

yesterday the evil empire aka the Yank$ won..defeating the Cali/Anaheim/Los Angeles/Orange County Angels..Boston and my beloved Padres lost as well..thank you my dear readers for your condolences..we also found out the Pad's best Pitcher,Jake Peavy, is out for the remainder of the playoffs..broken rib from being jumped on when they celebrated the clinching of the Division..can you say DUMB ASS...who is jumping on people's ribcage over winning the division in the worst possible way..jesus christ in a thong get a grip dudes..

Today we got Andy Pettitte going for Houston against Tim Hudson for the Braves...Huddy is either very good or anemic, his walk to K(strikeout) ratio is shit-tay..Andy has beaten the Bravos four times and Huddy hasn't won a game against the Stros yet..GO Stro's!

Bahston is sending out David "fat ass" Wells to face the ChiSox's Mark Buehrle...good luck fat ass I hope this is one of your good outings..god help us if it isn't..

Time for a little brevity..baseball aint going so well..

Twelve priests were about to be ordained. The final test was for them to line up in a straight row, totally nude, in a garden while a sexy, beautiful, big breasted, nude model danced before them. Each priest had a small bell attached to a strategic organ of his anatomy and they were told that anyone whose bell rang when she danced in front of them would not be ordained because he had not reached a state of purity. The beautiful nude model danced before the first candidate, with no reaction. She proceeded down the line with the same response from all of the priests until she got to the final priest, Carlos. Poor Carlos. As she danced, his bell began to ring so loudly that if Flew off, clattering across the ground and laid to rest in nearby foliage.
Embarrassed, Carlos quickly scrambled to where the bell came to rest. He bent over to pick it up......
Then all the other bells started to ring.

Padres flogged by the Cards..and now this..

Matt Clement, Boston pitcher, who closely resembles Abe Lincoln with that chin hair...gave up a shitload of runs to start the Bosox-Chisox game off well...insert tongue in cheek..

think i might go back to work..

Jim Edmonds..you sumbitch.

I had you in every single friggin league I had in fantasy baseball. You did SQUAT all freaking year, having THE fucking weakest Batting Avg (BA) in your entire career...you got the nads to hit one out in your first AB(at bat) of the series...

Thank you, you fucking killjoy..

3 hours, 52 minutes and 18 seconds....

That's when the first game of the baseball playoffs begins. And its none other than St Looey and my Padres..now the odds makers are saying the Cards in 4 games..I ain't saying shit..just know that the reason I am going to work at 6 friggin 30 in the morning is to have my happy ass back home by start of said game..

Boston and the White Sox..seeing as how the ChiSox have a lousy bullpen..I say Beantown Brawlers take it in 5 games..only cuz their bullpen aint all that either..plus David Ortiz is the man..I swear he has a large "S" on his tee shirt underneath that uniform..

Angels vs. Yank$..Angels and I dont care how many games it takes..but the Yank$ offense has woken up lately so anything is possible..When Pay-rod, Jeter and Sheff are hitting well, you can't stop those fuckers..get out your rally monkeys, I took the dogs monkey away from her last night so I can wave it like a moron if needed....hey it worked for them their last trip to the World Series.

Houston vs. Braves..Bravcs only cuz even a blind freaking squirrel can occasionally find a nut. The Astro's closer is da shit but their bats are anemic as hell. I look for this to be a low scoring series..I want the Astros but wouldnt be surprized if Atlanta wins with the "Jones" boyz hitting on all cylinders..

Enjoy the playoffs..pray for my Padres..please..those short bus riders need all the love they can get..

Sports and nuttin but..

No politics this morning, I have a headache...

The baseball playoffs begin in 1 day 5 hours 39 min. and 26 seconds. Both the Yank$ and the Bosox are in there. The Indians had a meltdown of historic proportions, rivaled by only the Angels of the late 80's and early 90's. Due to some archaic rule the AL East ended up with both top teams in the division tied AND going to the playoffs..its a dumb rule, thats all i gotta say...just remember this...the boys from Boston won it all from the Wild Card spot last year..nuff said..when the playoffs start Tuesday Morning, the first game of the day will be MY Padres and the St.Louis Cards. My boys finished two friggin games over .500 and I am fairly sure this is some sort of disgusting record for a team winning a divison in Baseball. Being a nightowl, I just heard Buster Olney say at 4am pacific time: the Padres are going to move on to the second round over the Cards..jesus christ is that guy drunk or something? But you know sportsfans..i do want my padres to win this round of the playoffs, i just dont feel its possible..i mean, come on..the realist says they are going down..the baseball fan in me thinks anything is possible..GO PADRES!!

The Other San Diego team, the Chargers, beat up on the Super Bowl winning Patriots Sunday..beat them like the proverbial ugly step child..41-17..but in all fairness, the Pats are beat up and injured on the defensive side of the ball..still...sure feels good! The brother's Manning both looked good this week. Cinncinati is 4-0...huh..no shit?? Does anyone remember the Icky Shuffle?? Redskins are unbeaten as well..true story..When I lived in upper VA, about 15 minutes from D.C., I had a friend who shared my love of football. She had a Brother and Father that were rabid Redskin fans...The Skins tickets were VERY hard to come by seeing as how RFK didnt hold alot of folks and in their heydey, the Skins sold alot of season tix..anyways, my friend calls me one Saturday morning and tells me her dad is in the hospital, possible heartattack. I give my condolences and she interrupts me. She says, "dad is going to be fine, and Mom gave me the tickets to tomorrows skins game, before my brother could get his hands on them." These seats were SOOOOO damn good, field level 50 yard line. IT seems the family held an impromptu meeting in the hospital room about who was going to get the tickets until Dad was well enough to go his own self..her brother threw a hissy-fit when Daddy said sister woman should get the honor since her love was deeper for the Skins than the son's. Dad almost had another coronary when the son said he was going to the family home and grab them up post haste..The doctors and nurses had to toss said son out of the room for upsetting Dad,who was screaming loud enough to be heard throughout the floor..they are Italian..nuff said.. :)

Correction..the Braves have only won 14 straight division titles..not 18..my bad. :)

Best pitching staff in the play0ffs..Houston Astros..The Rocket, Pettitte, and Oswalt..them boyz are good..especially in a five game series..

Our quote of the day..subject: War

An inglorious peace is better than a dishonorable war.- Mark Twain,"Glances at History," 1906

Anyone that calls the Iraq war honorable is sadly screwed up in my opinion...I love Mark Twain which explains why I use his writings and thoughts. This quote is one year shy of 100 years old..I think it works today as well as it did then.

Baseball update

The sadly sucky-assed Padres did clinch their divison Thursday evening..barroid bonds did not rescue those dipshits to the north, the Giants..they are getting Tee times for their golf games..not playing in the post season.

The Chicago White Sox also clinched their division and this seems right to me. Hopefully they will pull their head out of their collective ass and be able to win their first round of playoff games..

The Atlanta Braves as per usual won their division. This is not news to most baseball fanatics such as I. They have won something like 18 straight division titles..bfd..they only have ONE World Series ring to show for all those titles..For some reason they choke when it really counts..tsk tsk..

The Cali/Anaheim/Los Angeles/Orange County Angels also won their division..good luck boys, your gonna need it.

The St. Looey Cards won their divison and will have the honor of meeting my Padres in the first round of the Playoffs..oh goody..methinks they will beat the bejesus out of those boys from San Diego but who knows...I am hoping God is a Padre fan..I heard she does love the new uniforms..frankly I think their butt-ugly..but who am I to argue with God about such things right?

The Wildcard representatives are still up in the air..Houston is currently holding a one game lead over the Phillies for the honor of representing the National League..GO STROS!!!

The American League team is going to be one of three teams..Boston, Yank$ or the Indians..since the Indians blew it tonight in an extra innings extravaganza..and the Yanks lost to Boston tonite..can i get an amen?? :).. the Yank$ hold a one game lead over the Indians for said wildcard berth. The Bosox and the Yank$ are playing a nailbiter of a series to end the season..so this thing could go down to the last day of the regular season.. I am personally rooting for the Indians and Boston..nothing says lovin like watching a grown man have a coronary which might happen if the Yanks lose the series to Boston and Steinbrenner blows his lid..the series is being played in Boston's historic Fenway Park. I lived in the Fenway area for five years and I loved it there..beautiful old part of the city and chock full of hookers as I recall..we used to sit in the window on warm summer nights, seven stories above the street and keep track of which hookers made the most trips around the block in some John's car..we would make book on which one we thought would win our stupid little game..doesnt take much to amuse some folks ya know??
