Patrick Arnold, esteemed scientist and chemist, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for conspiring with the jackass owner of Balco, Victor Conte to distribute the once-undetectable substance tetrahydragestrinone, referred to by Barroid Bonds, Jason Giambi and others as "the clear". Arnold, was known for introducing the steroid precursor androstenedione to the United States. Nicknamed andro, the chemical came to public attention in 1998 when St. Louis Cardinals slugger Mark McGwire said he used it the year he broke baseball's single-season home run record.
The drug pushers that ran Balco have all received reduced sentences, most likely for snitching out their suppliers like Arnold. Conte was sentenced to four months in prison and four months' home confinement after negotiating a plea deal with federal prosecutors. Greg Anderson, Bonds' personal trainer, was sentenced to three months behind bars and three months in home confinement after pleading guilty to money laundering and a steroid distribution charge. Anderson and Bonds have been friends since childhood. Balco Vice Prez James Valente was sentenced to three years' probation and track coach Remi Korchemny is expected to receive probation at his February sentencing.
OH YEAH..give me a drug that will shrink nads, possibly give me a tumor or cancer of the brain and/or liver, destroy most of the muscles and tendons in my arms and legs all so I can hit a ball out of the park, run faster or pitch the next day..athletes..ya gotta love their priorities..

3 people gave us their .02 cents:
Some people will do anything to win. That's why I have to give props to people who don't use steroids.
You know Royce Gracie? That's why he no longer fights in the UFC. He said that he got sick of fighting these giants on steroids. He's only 170 pounds and was fighting 250 pound steroided beasts. It's not fair. I've wrestled some of these big boys and you'd have them in a hold that will take out anyone, and they just bump and you're back to square one. Gracie got sick of that crap, so he only fights select fights now. He's also very injured so he's not what he was in the mid-90s.
MMA is so full of steroids that it's sick. I won't name names, but everyone you think is on steroids is probably on steroids.
That's why I also give props to the NFL. They got sick of their players dying, so they randomly test for steroids. Sure, some players get away with it, but the usage is nothing compared to what it was back in the Lyle Alzedo days of the NFL.
As for Bonds, the irony of it is he's done. One more year, tops. He's literally falling to pieces. If he never did steroids, he probably could have played five more years and would have beaten Aaron's home run record. The irony of it is just too funny.
Let's not forget what steroids do to the mind: they turn you manic and irritable. (I have to watch it when I use my steroid inhaler for asthma! Imagine what happens to these doofs when they slurp it up!)
I wouldn't want to hang with any athlete on steroids: one half-bad word and you have a fist through your nasal bone and out the back of your cranium.
I am very well aware of what roids do to the mind Joel..a good friend in San Diego that was a female weight lifter killer her husband also a weight lifter during a roid rage..she is behind bars for most of her adult life now.
