President Bush, gotta hand it to him. Always saying the right things at the right moments to make everything better. I say him say that on CNN or some other news channel. He looked really smart as he said it.

Whatever happened to "Mission Accomplished"? Was it really?

Things aren't any better here at the local level in Houston. Efforts to help victims have become a source of political staging. It's like they are competing for votes. Who can help the most victims. Who can get the most volunteers. Who can get more tv coverage. I walked off a volunteer job the other day b/c one lady told me not to do too much b/c she didn't want my efforts to overshadow those of the local congressman.
Vultures.

Not only did he make that bright remark...but he was SO encouraging to the thousands of people who lost everything, telling them on TV the other day that Trent Lott's beachfront house was going to be rebuilt, better than ever...I bet it will be...while other's wait around while the Gov't stalls with relief for them.

Jenn, forgive me for pointing out again how beautiful you are before remarking.

Now I'm remarking.

President Asshole's dogs now have the nerve, now to blame the mayor of New Orleans, pointing out how Mayor Guliani imposed strong leadership in NYC on Sept. 11, 2001.

This is ludicrous. Comparing Sept. 11 with this disaster is completely irresponsible. The entire city of New York wasn't flooded, and the major problem outside Ground Zero was fear.

It is easy to impose leadership when bullshit morale boosting is needed, but all along the Gulf Coast, practical, real, hands-on emergency help was needed, and it still hasn't arrived in force!

Whoever would blame the mayor of New Orleans in all this is a stupid son of a bitch.

AND he overstated the obvious, yes.
