73 year old Mollie Hardbarger shot her 69 year old spouse in West Virginia this week. He was cheating on her, but the worst thing evidently was the woman he was bumping uglies with had a swell case of VD which really didn't sit well with Mollie..so she shot him with the family 22....the link to the story is here.

In other baseball news..Pitcher Sidney Ponson got his walking papers today from the Baltimore O's...seems they were none too happy with his second bust for Drunk Driving in 9 months..dude is 28, too bad he has the maturity level of a frat boy during homecoming..OH..he also clocked a judge in his home country of Aruba in the off season during a Christmas Day fight at a beach,for which he did 11 days in the slammer. The O's are trying to prove grounds for termination under the infamous morals clause, paragraph 3(a), that reads: "The Player agrees to perform his services hereunder diligently and faithfully, to keep himself in first-class physical condition and to obey the Club's training rules, and pledges himself to the American public and to the Club to conform to high standards of personal conduct, fair play and good sportsmanship." Thats a fucking vague ass clause if I ever saw one..but its standard in all O's contracts..all 40 guys have it. Sid is gonna fight it and i DONT blame him..but the man IS FELONY DUMB and a good candidate for FOTW..(fucktard of the week)

I hate it when I can't sleep..

of course it gives me plenty of time to checkout the newspaper..I really wanted to see that the price of gas will be over 4 bucks soon..lord have mercy louise..this can not be happening..yes it can..and it is..here in bakersfrigginfield, we not only pump oil out of the ground, we refine it into gas and diesel..yet, the price went over 3 bucks a gallon today..and it isnt jumping by a few cents daily..the shit went up by 12 fucking cents in one day..ONE DAY..if that isn't price gouging i dont know what is..

in other news, the mouth that roared aka David Wells shot off his yap again..and was promptly called on the carpet by Buddy Selig, aka the Commish..Wells, a poster child for open mouth and insert foot, bitched about Selig when he lost his bid to lower his 6 game suspension for making contact with an umpire..bet that was a pretty site...Wells retracted all his crap today..jeez what a surprize there eh? He mocked ol Buddy Selig for his handling of the steroid issue in baseball..evidently Wells forgot that his players union is the one holding up the whole process of making life hard on those that shoot up roids..no one ever said Wells was smart..just a lefty that can throw a baseball..lefties last forever in baseball cuz their so damn hard to find..doesnt matter if they suck..Wells is the dipshit that wrote a book stating he was drunk when he pitched his no hitter a few years back for the yanks..seems he pitches ALOT better drunk than sober cuz his numbers arent all that sportsfans.. Kerry Woods finally ended his season on a sour note..surgery...he has been off and on the DL like it was a freaking contest all season..BARROID aka Barry Bonds, the wonderful, fun loving, steroid taking hitter for the San Fran Giants has resumed batting practice after taking the entire season to date off for what was supposed to be minor surgery..not that he will do the Giants any good...they are so far down the food chain they will never see the light of day this year...

In NFL news...the nimrod known as Maurice Clarett was dumped by the Denver Broncos this week..hopefully you remember Moreece..he was the college player that attempted to go pro after ONE year of college ball at Ohio State..the NFL won the court case tossing his ass out of the draft until he was at least three years removed from high school..plus Mo got popped for lying about alot of things that happened during his tenure at Ohio State..a stellar stand up guy Clarett is,right?..however he is currently unemployed and his agent is hawking his ass around the league..good luck Mo..your gonna need it..trying playing for the team instead of whining and getting "hurt" the entire preseason..when they draft you in the third round, they usually expect something other than the infamous "pulled groin"..as coach Mike Shannahan said..its hard to evaluate him as a player when he never played..no shit mike?

it breaks my heart to hear and see all the damage and deaths..but then to see the looters ..it makes me crazy. How can a person be that fucked up to loot a store or a home during such a horrible time in everyone's life in that part of the country? How could they be that screwed up? It's beyond me..i can not figure out how they can rationalize this type of action. People have no food, water, housing or electricity and yet there are individuals that are looting.... i am never ever going to be able to grasp the callousness of people.

I am sure that folks will know tomorrow which bases in their areas are affected..if at all..but the BRAC boyz..for Base Relignment and Closure, refused to shut down the two largest bases offered up by the pentagon, Groton CT and Portsmouth in ME stating the government bean counters are full of shit in their savings analysis..jeez THIS is a shock..the bean counters stated if all the bases they want closed were actually closed it would save the government roughly 2.5 Billion a year for the next 20 years..the brac boyz seriously doubt all these savings will ever come to fruition since they are mostly moving people and ops from one base to another....the only real savings will be in property maintenance and upkeep. Fucking Jeb Bush got his way, but really, he had a good idea and sadly it sucked for Virginia Beach who is now losing a big bunch of jets to Jeb..oh fucking well...a base is a base is a base...yes thousands of civilians are employed and in the case of South Dakota, Ellsworth is the second largest employer in the state.

Five bucks says his mouthpiece lawyer comes out in a day or so and says ol Doc has checked himself into rehab again..obviously this man needs more than a trip to rehab..he needs to spend some time in jail w/bubba and the boys..rehab has become nothing more than place to run when he fucks up. Cali Supreme Court Expands Same-sex Parental Rights

The court had a hard time applying some very archaic laws to the three cases, but they made it work..bravo i say! In their ruling the court said and I quote; "We perceive no reason," the Supreme Court ruled, "why both parents of a child cannot be women." Connecticut challenges "No child left behind" law in Federal Court.

Since day one I have been skeptical about this law. It seemed too expensive and told states what they already knew(poor children are not as well taught as rich kids). The monetary part was even more disturbing..it only provides funds for the testing portion of the law, the states are on their own in how to fund programs to bring these children up to par with the rest of the students in the state.

The state is not the first to sue in response to No Child Left Behind. The National Education Association, a national teacher's union, filed a lawsuit last spring on behalf of local districts and 10 state union chapters, including Connecticut.

I would be interested in hearing from any teachers out in BlogLand about this law..if they think its viable or just a load of crap and "window dressing" as some education groups have written and a few of my teacher friends have told me.

Full Moon Rising

it was cool tonight, you could actually stand to be outside longer than it takes to go from the building to the car. If you have never seen the Jefferson Memorial on a night with a full moon this is what it looks like..and i am sure it looked alot like this tonight. When I lived outside DC in Northern VA I loved driving by the monuments at night, the lighting is so fantastic. The Washington Monument has a great reflection as well.

Both the former Prez's must be rolling over in their graves in the realization that Bush has really screwed the pooch and every citizen of this land in some form or fashion during his magnificent tenure as our leader..sorry had to throw that in..

The Gaza, palestinians and israel

I have been watching all week the drama in the Gaza unfold..it makes me cry for people uprooted that have lived there for, in some cases, most of their lives..

I have never approved of the palestinians actions with regards to all the bombings in israel, but i do think they deserve their own homeland..but..should they get it at the expense of the jews that settled there after the war?

I don't know how to feel about this..i do not know which SIDE to be on..i am confused..is that lame?

Another Blogger hits the big time..

This guys blog ,the Rude Pundit,is all politics for the most part, but he rails against the establishment in a very "Lenny Bruce" sort of way, which warms the cockels of my heart..for those of you too young to know who the hell Lenny is, he was the father of sarcastic, sartiric,by the seat of your pants,tell em to fuck off USING the f-word comedy.

The NY Times article is a review of his one-man show plus it puts the spotlight on blogs as art, YES i said blogs have become artistic and a great breeding ground for theatrical material and performers. If you are not a regular reader of my babble, I did a post on another blogger that is hitting the big time with a MOVIE and a BOOK deal here.

So..with so many excellent, funny bloggers out there, keep the faith that one day you too will be discovered. It was very good, but acoustic doesn't do alot for me, its all about the vocals usually, and this was as well. But, I love Jonny's music so I drove the two hours up to Fresno to see him. Ricky still has it..

In his second game since his over-publicized return to football, Williams showed signs of his old Pro-Bowl self, gaining 39 yards on six carries Saturday night against Jacksonville. Williams' "Sportscenter" moment was an ankle breaking cut that sent the Jaguars defender flying in the wrong direction after a series of awesome moves.

I want Ricky to have a good season..unlike T.O. whom I hope fucks up again and watches football from home this season..two men that play a childs game for LOTS of money..i work my ol ass off 40+ hours a week at a job that was only supposed to be part-fucking-time, whilst these two guys catch and/or run with a friggin football maybe 16 weeks out of the year..

Plans for the Weekend:I was recently asked to take a group of inter-city Cub Scouts on a camping expedition. Since my leg is fucked up and I am not into sweating my ass off in this heat, or having to shit in a hole I myself had to dig, while on crutches. I decided to give these young scouts a more practical experience.I am taking These them on an inter-city camping trip. Yes, dear reader something they can use, skills that will last a lifetime. I rounded up several instructors from our local homeless shelters to lend their years of experience in urban survival and foraging skills. All I had to do to get them to volunteer was buy them a few bottles of Thunderbird.

These children will learn the arts of pan-handling, dumpster diving, cardboard box shelter building, and of course living under bridges and underpasses. Best, of all, I borrowed an RV, so that I can stay in comfort.

I love the smell of a first rain

When I walked out of work last night at the stroke of 11 pm, the parking lot was empty. There were carts everywhere and the parking lot sweeper was just entering the lot. I stopped half way to my car..I smelled RAIN!!! omg, it flooded my senses..it smelled so damn good! It hasn't rained in bakersfrigginfield since winter,it never does this time of year.

I was so tired after a long-assed day, my body was weary and ached, but that smell of rain energized me. I caught a glimpse of lightning off to my right. It was in the mountains that surround us here at the foot of the San Joaquin Valley. I got in my car and started driving east, towards home and a big bed. I hadn't slept but maybe two hours in the last 36, insomnia was rearing its ugly head. Suddenly a huge burst of lightning, with all its fingers snaking towards the ground struck somewhere up in the mountains directly in front of me. I called the ball & chain, he loves a good lightning show,and informed him of the impending events. He was standing outside in the front yard when I arrived 15 minutes later. We watched all around us as strike after strike lit up the night sky. Big huge lightning, with half a dozen branches extending from the main trunk. What seemed like minutes later the thunder, big rolling thunder, washes through the valley and echos off the mountains on the west side. I wasn't tired any more but my fucking feet were killing me so off i went into the house.

The ball and chain went into the bedroom to watch the show from our bed that sits under the window. I laid on the couch in the living room and turned off all the lights and sounds..tv included. I propped up my tired dogs on a couple of pillows and watched the lightning dance off the walls and through the blinds. The thunder got closer to each strike. I couldn't handle the silence of course, so I turned the TV on the weather channel, catching the local update perfectly..jesus christ in a thong, a huge cell of rain was coming over the mountains and straight into Bakersfrigginfield..nice! I turned off the TV for good. After 35 straight days of 100+ temperatures a rain would be nice, even if it did add to the damn humidity. The temperature was dropping fast, I could actually turn off the swamp cooler, which hasnt been off in two months. With the thunder shaking the house, and the lightning illuminating everything I laid down and tried to relax. The show lasted for an hour and a half. The dark room was cool and comfortable, the smell of rain returned. I got up and went to the screen door. Yes, it was raining, just sprinkling but it was rain. It became a gentle rain, the sound of tires hissing as they drove down the wet street calmed my tired mind and relaxed my aching body. I started to drift off to some desperately needed sleep, the last thing I remember thinking was...god i love the smell of rain. It was around 2 am.

My happy ass slept in till 10 am! Praise jesus and pass me a smoke :)

Sunday's Sports News and Rant...

ok...all you non-sports type people can let your eyes glaze over now..or change the channel, er..blog..its time for dusterella's sports with a hint of sarcasm.

The NFL Hall o Fame inducted two great qb's this weekend...Dan Marino and Steve Young..i enjoyed both of them and hated both of them depending on who they played that week. They were prolific, record-setting passers and I salute them. They gave me some exciting sundays and I hope they feel fulfilled now..they should.

Most folks are aware..or maybe not, that football has commenced..pre-season anyway..i speak of football in the professional arena..i do not watch alot of college ball, too damn many teams,divisions and conferences for moi..when it gets going and the wheat is separated from the chaff we can discuss college football..until then its the pro's...

It was a Kodak moment for moi..i bugged out of work for three hours to watch it..which means i worked late into the evening..oh fucking well..the Rushville Rocket Rules..at least this week. He also took over first in the standings..from Cali native Jimmy Johnson.

In baseball news, the littlest Cardinal, David Eckstein(formerly of the Angels)hit a granny today..the man gets like 4 homers all season and he shot his load today for the win..its not a big deal but i just wanted to give the lil shit his due..

The NL West is still digustingly pathetic..Padres are in first but cant play .500 ball for over a week straight..jesus christ it drives me to drink..how can they be so shitty? how can the whole friggin division be so shitty..dont talk to me about parity..pitching is such a premium around the whole league..a quarter of the damn league has been or is on the DL this year..for shit that makes you want to bitch slap em..deep thigh bruise..what in the blue hell is that???walk it off nimrod..suck it up and deal for gods sake..and no one calls a fly ball any more? these jackass's are running into each other like they are fucking blind or have magnets in their skulls..play as a whole seems to have dimished this year..either that or I am getting an attitude..either is entirely possible.

The Chicago White Sox are still in first, the Washington Gnats are dropping like a rock and Randy Johnsons back is now bothering him and he might miss his next start..this is not a surprize to moi since i watched him for years as a diamondback..he was showing signs of wear two years ago. If he lasts thru the playoffs I will be mildly surprized. the MLB playoffs begin in 57 days..its the beginning of the end for me..or the start of the best part of the season depending on my mood swing or hormone levels..

Boston Redsox are STILL in first..by 3.5 games..the Oaktown A's are tied with the Cali-LA-Anaheim Angels in the AL West..they sucked SOOO bad the first part of the season and have just knocked the living bejesus out of the ball since the All Star break,plus the Angels are sucking moist butthairs lately..Daisy's AssRangers are fading again..damn shame too :( Cards have a comfortable lead over the hapless ASStros and the Braves are back in first by 5.5 games..fuckers..will we ever see a post season with someone other than the Braves from the NL East? the turds fold like a house of cards in the first or if their lucky second round of playoffs each year..get some new blood in that division please for the love of god..

on a non-sports note..Peter Jennings, a canuck but american icon passed on today..lung cancer got him..he smoked for years but stopping didn't make a difference..which gives me pause to resurect my fatalist POV..why quit if its going to kill me anyway? thats a rhetorical question..

Like the mailman..neither rain,sleet,snow or dead of nite would keep me from my appointed rounds..

holy batshit..it was nasty..the weather betwix and between bakersfrigginfield and stateline nevada was miserable..we went thru three,count em three big ol thunderstorm cells..truckers didnt even dare drive thru em..they were pulled over by the dozens..it was dark and forboding for three hours of the three and a half hour drive..the storms were all around us..wind, lightning, hail, rain so hard you couldn't see the road. We would leave one cell only to enter another one..we considered our options..keep on going or turn around and go home..we were SO not turning around and going home even though the ball and chain begged me to consider it. he was driving poor man..

we arrived at our destination intact and about 45 minutes before the 8pm start for the concert. Check-in was quick and we dumped our stuff in the room and caught our breath...jesus that was some wicked weather. My ticket was at Will Call...little did i know my journey wasn't even done..

Evidently...they sell 99% of their tickets over the phone. The venue holds roughly 6200 people..6000 of them were standing in the Will Call line when i arrived to get my ticket..i shit you not sports fans, the line was snaked around the entire fucking casino. The b&c says "see ya, have fun" and bailed..fuckstick that he is...we all bitched and complained in unison..i would occasionally make a scouting trip to the head of the line to gauge our progress. Got to know the life stories of about 6 people in front and behind of me in the line..I kept bugging the woman behind me for time updates since i knew Joe B would start first and only play for a half hour..i got in there to my seat just in time to see..HIS LAST FUCKING SONG...note to self..NEVER EVER do Will Call at the fucking Star of the Desert arena again..

It was a better concert in some respects than the first one Wednesday..it was LOUDER :) the place was so cold you could hang fucking meat in there..and i was wearing shorts and a tank top...almost froze my tata's off..I had a good seat in the back of the first section on the floor. The bar was close by..but to my chagrin the only vodka being served up was Smirnoff...that shit gives me a headache, so between bands i would race out to the casino bar and order a Skyy and Soda double and head back in..some chick in front of me evidently had NEVER been to a rock concert before because she kept bitching about how loud the music was and why the hell does that bitch behind(me ) keep screaming and hollering..I told her to loosen up a tad when she turned around and glared at me for like the 80th time..the woman next to me asked what her problem was and i said i dont know but she needs to go home and knit something or watch reruns of "the waltons" and quit giving me the evil eye...

It was great, it was glorious and it was live music! Two weeks from now Bo Diddely comes to town..and then its time to see Jonny Lang in Fresno two weeks after that..good concert season, best in years for moi..Well i gotta go to work..yeah yeah..it sucks moose balls, but thats the price you pay for running around the western states hearing some great blues artists..

Riding with the King..

BB and the boys were great. A fantastic showman, he kept the audience laughing and participating throughout the show. The warm up act was my boy Joe Bonamassa, who only got half an hour..oh fucking well..BB has an 8 piece band, 4 of which is the horn section. He sat during his entire set but wouldnt you if you were 70friggin9? His voice is still sweet and his guitar playing was good but he did have another guy play most of the leads. BB told stories between each song ,one that impressed me was that U2's song, "when love came to town"(hope thats the title) was written expressly for him. Kenny Wayne Sheppard's set was good and thank god he didnt do the singing, boy sounds like a cow pissin on a flat rock as my dad used to say...Noah was good with the vocals..Kenny is a good ol boy from Texas so he has alot of Stevie Ray Vaughn style in his playing which is fine with me! The show started at 6:30 which was very early by most standards but hey..i got to watch the sunset on San Diego Bay whilst listening to some great music since the venue is literally ON the bay..about 50 yards from the marina to be exact..it also ended early..10:30..something bout rules and regulations they said..

a piece of pizza was five bucks and a double stoli and soda was 12...even the Tshirt was a tad overpriced at 30 clams..but i didnt complain..thats what god made credit cards for..

this was the first concert in the BB's tour, his 80th birthday is Sept 16th. When Joe started his set he stated that on this same day when he was 12 years old he went on a stage for the first time...with none other than...BB KING..trippy huh? i got to talk to Joe after his show and he said he was a little disappointed that his set was only a half hour..but he does love the perks..a nice tour bus and roadies to set up and take down his equipment..usually its the band itself that does it...

can't wait to see it all again in Nevada...today as a matter of fact!..this is friday right? yep, i get to see it all again tonite..call me crazy, but i love the blues..just one of the perks of being a semi-retired ol bitch.. :)

OK...so I made it to san diego for the BB KING concert

it was touch and go..this day has been the day from hell..its like the gods were against me from the start..the day started at 5am with maybe 3 hours of sleep...I am staying at my little sister's house, we havent spent time together in months since the YSFH(yuppie sista from hell) monopolizes all my time when i come down here..traffic coming down was miserable, i forgot stuff, i couldnt play my Ipod since the cassette thingy I just bought is malfunctioning..i hate radio,too many commercials...on the bright side...THE WEATHER IS FREAKING FANTASTIC!!! my lil sis is less than a mile from the ocean which I can see from her kitchen and living room since she lives on this ungodly steep hill..but i do feel better already...gotta go sportsfans..have a good evening although i doubt it will be as good as mine..unless you happen to be attending a great concert with bb king, kenny wayne sheppard and of course my beloved Joe Bonamassa :)

This story has all the makings of a sordid B Movie plot..and its all true. Thats the scary part. A reporter secretly tapes a phone call from a politico that seconds later commits suicide in the reporters newspapers lobby..the reporter tells his bosses of the taped convo and later that evening gets the boot.. The newspaper had the nads to publish parts of the illegally taped convo prior to canning the reporter..can anyone tell me who is wrong in this whole mess? Does anyone care? The media gets to police itself which to me is like letting the fox guard the henhouse. The newspaper then says its firing the reporter for doing something illegal (taping the convo without the politicians conscent is illegal in Fla. as well as alot of states) that reflects negatively on the paper as a whole. REFLECTS NEGATIVELY ON THE PAPER? GIVE ME A BREAK YOU FUCKTARDS!

Leroys strange sleeping spots..

Leroy is the last of the feral kittens to get

Leroy to purr the other night, and he slept

stirred.

the current rumors are: AJ Burnett to the Chi Sox, they need to beef it up a tad, but they DO have the best record in baseball so they are planning for the playoffs i guess..the pads just got Joe Randa for a bag of balls from Cinncy..Sid Fat Ass Ponson might be going to the AssRangers if Baltimore can cough up some of the ungodly 8 mil he is due next season..Eric Byrnes might be relocating to Cardinal land ...cards are banged up lately..arent we all...Soriano might be back in NYC but as a MET..thats far fetched but never say never ya know?? Shea Hillenbrand, that well traveled 1st and 3rd basemen might be going to the twins..lots of possibilities..stay tuned..

Little Ricky is back in the fold in Florida..the angels are singing, the fans are cheering again and the pot dealers are down a customer. Ricky gave up his free wheeling lifestyle to return to the rigors of the NFL after taking a year off to explore "other" lifestyles..holistic medicene, yoga, camping in the Outback and god knows what other endeavors that are frowned upon in NFL circles..oh yeah..he smoked alot of pot also..bear in mind that ricky suffers from a personality disorder that requires daily medication and he quit taking it whilst he was on this soul searching expedition for the last year and a half. He is a quiet soul, very soft spoken and this makes him seem very vunerable. As Bruce pointed out in one of the comments on this blog..Krazy Karl is the Prez's chief advisor...and fuckup apparently. He outed a CIA operative simply because he hated her husband..hubby is a democrat apparently and making lots of noise about the Prez's screwups as of late..who isnt?...but the sad thing is..as a CIA operative outing her possibly put her in harm's way..thats a big fucking no no in most people's minds..and the Prez originally said he would punish to the fullest extent of the law the perp that did this evil deed..until that is, he found out it was his number one boy..now Bushie is back-pedaling his feeble ass off and wont say what he's gonna do about it..Bushie also named his Supreme Court Nom lightening quick in order to take Karl's happy ass off the front pages of most major newspapers..he loves a good story but not if it involves one of his homies i guess..Rove's actions are tatamount to treason during wartime..and last time i checked we were at war....well maybe we shouldn't kill the bastard but he needs to be hung by his fingernails in a cell w/bubba at the very least..

Boy did i screw up...

When I read my work schedule for this week, on sunday night around 11pm, I read it wrong,way wrong..i thought it showed 20 hours this week..i said, COOL a short week! I dont have to do shit till Thursday. This was particularly good because I still have a bunch of injuries from my gymnastic performance this past saturday, you know if you read my blog what i mean by that..my body being old and way torn up could use the additional days to recuperate..

WRONG CHARDONNAY BREATH!

In actuality I have 40 FUCKING hours of work this week. I did not discover this until noon today, THURSDAY! this presents a slight problem..how to work 40 hours of work into the remaining days in the week..impossible you say? nah..i can cram em into two and a half days..with a little overtime..the boss lady is not real big on OT...imagine my surpize..

So ...i worked 10 and a half today, and will probably work at least 8 tomorrow..this sucks major moose balls since i am used to working maybe 4 hours a day.Plus you factor the torn upper arm muscle , banged up knees and back into the equation and sportsfans, you have a recipe for MORE PAIN..I took this shitty, mindless, part time job for a reason..IT WAS PART FUCKING TIME! i do not want to work full time, if i did i sure as hell wouldnt be doing this hair ball job...all i wanted was enough money to pay those little credit card bills the ball and chain isnt aware of..and the occasional fantastic pair of shoes..this job offered flexiblity with a capital F sportsfans, only a few hours a week, and they could be worked anytime between the hours of 6am and midnight..I am a nightowl for the most part, staying up till 4 am getting up at 6am then cat napping during the day and early evening..it works for me maybe not you..but anyways..i digress forgive me.

I will be driving far and wide tomorrow..and its hot..real fucking hot..try 107 with the humidity in the high 30's..which makes the dewpoint in the high 50's..which means..fuck who cares what it means..its fucking hot..and it has been for over 11 straight friggin days...this makes me cranky..very cranky..old overweight people do NOT enjoy being hot and sticky unless it is rolling around in bed with your lover..and that aint happening anytime soon...anywho..i gotta work all freaking weekend and then leave for vegas on monday morning at the fine hour of 4 or 5 am...the ball and chain likes to get over the great divide prior to the temperature reaching 127 in death valley..or whatever friggin nasty desolate desert area we drive thru on the way to Vegas..and there isn't even a concert for moi this trip..its our annual anniversery trip back to the mecca where we married on July 31st of some recent year, forgive me if i dont recall it at this late hour..vegas,land of elvis and wayne newton..we got married by an elvis impersonator..a little Filipino guy..he did sound alot like elvis however so it made up for the fact that he looked NOTHING like elvis..even in that gnarly white jumpsuit w/all the rhinestones on it..

Also, its the annual Coaches trip to vegas, the college coaches from our local JC. They are the ball and chains drinking buddies,along with the head of the probation dept(that guy is a major lush),an assistant DA and god knows what other mucky mucks...i am the only female allowed to attend..i feel so lucky!!! not really, but the attention is nice..they admire my sportsbrain :)
I would like to beg off this year...the boss lady has informed me that i have lots of work since we went from three field reps to one and a half...the half being the new hire that cant take a full stress load yet..lucky her..

So think of me dear friends, working my injured body to death this whole weekend..walking the miles and miles of grocery aisles..making sure that proctor& gamble, frito-lay, pepsi-co and god knows what other manufacturer's goods are appropriately displayed for your purchasing pleasure. I know most of the managers in these stores and lately they look at me an say.."I thought you only worked part time? Your here more than most of our employees." I also like the ones that laugh and say.."I thought you didnt have to work weekends."

If i had read my schedule right I wouldn't be..dammit..fuck you Pepsi! I hope Coke beats the shit out of you in sales this month...

May i start out by saying that I firmly believe that Bush rushed to judgement on this nomination ONLY to get his boy Karl Rove off the front pages...i would bet my life on it.

John Roberts has only been a judge for and year and a half...thats it folks!!! Somehow i just dont see this guy as a seasoned jurist with a whopping 18 months on the bench..do you?..he was of course appointed by Bushie to the appeals court in 2003...I wouldnt feel too comfortable getting an opinion from a doctor that had only been in practice for 18 months and i feel becoming a supreme court justice requires a certain amount of experience, you dont put rookies in a position of authority right out of the gate..

He is as far right as you can get, he has MORE experience as a lobbyist for the religious right and as a corporate attorney than anything else. He staunchly believes that Roe v. Wade should be overturned and wrote numerous papers on this topic.

New Blog for an Old Bitch..

since my back is killing me and i can't sleep..i procreated another blog..this one is not for the faint of heart or thin skinned..its a political blog for the most part. its over on the right entitled "Dusty's Political Rant"blog..read it or dont..its up to you as usual..

It started Saturday. I was attempting to enter my humble abode loaded down with the following: a laptop,purse and large bag of groceries. For whatever reason, the poodle gets in the way and trips me up..i have been known to be a clumsy fuck in the past so this presents an immediate problem for moi..i start to fall out the door..not in..out..as i attempt to save my aforementioned belongings from hitting the cement steps i quickly calculate that my face will instead hit the cement steps unless i take quick evasive action. I do what i consider the only thing available in the nanosecond it takes to do a face plant, i hang all my body weight on my right arm on the handle to the screen door. This action prevents me from completing the face plant on the cement steps, but it provides the opportunity of smashing my right knee into said cement steps..oh well, a knee is better than a face on the cement steps any day. Unfortunetly its the same knee that has suffered numerous injuries in the past including the 30+ stitches when i opened the sucker up on a curb as a small but dumb child. As i swing precariously around like a fucking ragdoll on the screendoor handle, bouncing my right knee off BOTH steps i silently wonder where in the hell my son and/or husband are AND if the neighbors are enjoying my gymnastic prowess i am currently exhibiting in broad daylight..

I finally release the death grip i have on the screendoor handle and fall to both knees on the friggin cement steps...the dog is oblivious to anything wrong at this point and stands there wagging her damn tail and smiling..it may have been a smirk i dont fucking know..

Suddenly it dawns on me that besides the wonderful scrapes and bruises on both knees my shoulder suddenly burns and hurts like a mutha..i mean it was on the same scale as child birth...on the pain scale childbirth is always the 10 to me..and i was doped up to my eyeballs and would of gladly beat the nurse to death with my fists for another epidural..it hurt THAT bad..even when i shattered and flew out the CLOSED drivers side window while my car was doing a nice spiral around that tree in '78, that pain was nothing compared to childbirth dear friends..in any case, i surmise i just might of dislocated my right shoulder...wow wee..this is gonna hurt big fucking time sports fans..and it does..

I try to regain my composure, surveying the 'hood for people watching my acrobatic movements and i see no one..whew..i am biting a hole in my lip to keep from screaming in pain and i drag my ass into the house mumbling to the dog that i will rip her throat out if she doesnt move the hell out of my way this time around..

ok...the b&c is laying around watching god knows what 50 year old cowboy movie in the bed room...i do my best imitation of the hunchback of notre dame as i drag my wounded leg and shoulder back the half a friggin block to the bedroom. by this time tears are streaming down my cheeks and i swear if i live thru this i will put a ramp to the front door, regardless of the cost involved..

i collapse on the floor in a crying heap at the foot of the bed..takes the b&c a minute to wake up and notice the moaning, crying lump that is moi on the floor. my brain goes into action, i start screaming out orders..get me a sheet and roll it up..i need it now jackass not next week move it move it...i find if i hold my arm up with my other hand and brace it against my ribcage the pain somewhat lessens..i order the poor man to remove my shirt gingerly..he puts the arm in the sling and i can finally breathe..no i am NOT going to the ER people die in that place from god knows what i tell him..if my fingers turn blue then i will go.

in short i hosed up the following body parts.both my knees, my right shoulder and of course my back..the same back that has two very badly herniated discs that can blow and leave me paralyzed from the waist down..this kinda worries me because now i can not move without major pain in my lumbar area..i scream out for vicodin and a glass of wine..fuck it, this needs to stop hurting NOW and those two things together might hurry the process..i tell the b&c that the ER room is NOT an option unless i lose consciousness and to not bring it up again..poor man looked worse than i did at this point...helpless and dumbfounded that i could still scream out orders in my current state.

i stayed doped up all day and night saturday..which wasn't the smartest thing because i had to transmit a report for the days work to HQ in Chicago...i tried to let the b&c help me with this but to no avail..the man can do nothing other than open a browser on a computer..cut and paste is a foreign concept to him..sending reports was way the hell over his head..but i got it done in between the crying and wailing in pain...THEN i collasped..

sunday found me hurting..alot...but my shoulder wasn't dislocated..thank god for small favors..my knees looked like i had been drug behind a car for 20 miles but hell..could of been worse...could of needed stitches again..my back was the main pain avenue and i am used to that..it has hurt for 25 years...its my old friend..

monday was a gem..i slept alot..i also tripped over one of the OTHER dogs and smashed the same right knee into the corner of the four hundred pound coffee table..why do they call it a coffee table? i dont fucking know..but i wondered about it as i screamed in agony once again..the dog is of course going into heat and acting crazy as a loon..she is due to be spayed wednesday and the price will double if her ass is in heat..not her ass, but you know what i mean...

the highlight of the day was when my boss calls and says she might have to unload some more stores on me..she just hired a girl but the other field rep is now taking a six month leave of absence due to her mothers declining health..my hours are going to skyrocket like the national debt..oh joy just what i needed..i took the job because it said..PART TIME...they lied evidently..and i got alot of out of town trips scheduled for the next two and a half weeks..nothing like working all day, driving for four hours and then driving back after the concert.. two days in the same week!!!!yeah i can do it...fuck..i think i can, i hope i can..i will dammit..i have no choice..i will NOT give up a $100 and a $50 ticket to see BB King and my beloved Joe Bonamassa in BB's final tour,he's 80 this year and i got tickets to the San Diego and Primm Nevada shows two days apart..yeah its dumb but you dont know my love of music if you question this..not bad knees, blown discs,hosed up shoulder or work schedules will keep me from my music..my sanity might however..the jury is still out on that one..

one final blow to my frayed senses...to add insult to injury..the YANK$ ARE NOW IN FIRST FREAKING PLACE IN THE AL EAST..oh what did i do so wrong to deserve all this..i ask you..what could possibly go wrong now..wait..nevermind..do NOT answer that..

Frankly I can not see why the older party gets all butt-hurt when these types of relationships end..can you? I mean..come on...did you think she was gonna play house with daddy forever? The walker would cramp her style gramps..get real..

Or in Terry's case..even if he did announce he was suddenly gay, why would you want to make it all public and shit..she's supposed to be a liberal, forward thinking person, is that a sham? Is she homophobic or just lashing out at him by calling him a fag?

IF there is one thing that will keep people riled up for all eternity..it is GOD..the belief in or lack thereof..but with that said..i firmly believe you can not give in to terrorists, you must maintain a steadfast belief in what you are doing or the people you are trying to protect and/or free will lose hope. bastards have won like 7 years in a row..i am sure a certain blogger..(john) will rub it in..

i have been playing in San Diego since friday..hence no blog entries..i had a marvelous time, and the weather was great..heard some good music and spent time with a few great friends..its always nice to see people you care about and i do not get to do it often enough..one special friend was working in town and it made my three day weekend even better than i thought possible..plus i got to introduce him to my other friends who really enjoyed his company as well. Some people just light up a room,making people laugh and smile.. and he is one of those.My YSFH(yuppie sista from hell) did NOT enjoy my company and I incurred her wrath, but i do not give a shit..it was a weekend for moi and i made the most of it..lots of laughing and drinking and story telling..hope it holds me over till the next time i go down san diego way...
