The thing about Hendrix is I'd rather now know anything bad about the guy. His contributions to the electric guitar were amazing. Sure, he may not have invented many techniques, but he brought them to the masses. Hendrix was one of the first guitarrists I studied.
So Jimi was no angel; we all knew that. I've never understood why people go out of their way to throw dirt on people who aren't around anymore(and no, Boo, I don't mean you).
Gotta love the dirt they dig up on the dead. Why does that sound morbid?
Yeah, I still love me some Hendrix. I like rebels anyhow. Makes him hotter. GUITAR!!
I'd like to hear Captain Gilbert Batchman perform All Along The Watchtower and see if any of his army skills save him from music fans everywhere.
Jimi Hendrix was half Cherokee, which is the reason for his maltreatment at the hands of the military. A tremendous number of officers were, and are today, the descendants of of American military personnel who made their careers and family fortunes during the genocidal campaigns against the First Nations of the American West.
Since black people had a history of slavery, and occasional usefulness as cannon fodder, his African-American peers would not have been singled out for such reprimands as appear in his record.
Native Americans, however, are routinely discriminated against, and this is probably why the attempts to embarrass Hendrix by soiling his service record were so petty and routine.
