So..I was sitting around, reading my favorite political blogs when I heard thunder..big booming thunder. I quickly shutdown the laptop and walked the half a block to the front of the humble abode. I put the weather channel on and all kinds of bells and whistles were going off on there. Major weather approaching..danger..will robinson..danger!! The radar was blue over BakeTown..blue! Blue is something other than rain apparently.
I opened the front door and hot damn if it wasn't pitch black outside. And windy, as windy as my sister bitching out a saleslady at Nordie's. All the neighbors were standing on their porches surveying the impending doom.
Now, I am sure you folks east of Arizona and Nevada are saying..bfd lady. Well, to us it was. When the hail started hitting the house all seven cats ran like hell to the back of the house and crowded under my kingsized bed. Baby the dog started shaking like the proverbial leaf and Sasha started barking her fool head off. Nicky the fat poodle just laid on the couch and wondered what all the fuss was about. I grabbed my camera and started taking some pics for the family album.
It lasted all of ten minutes. Just long enough to blanket the street with ping pong ball-sized hail. The kids making balls of the white stuff and tossing them at each other. When it passed, the cats came out from under the bed and I got Baby to stop shaking by giving her a biscuit or two..or three.
I might have to rethink my evening travel plans..I hate driving in the rain..much less hail.

Well, post yours Sonic and I can link to YOURS sweetie :)
Dusty, I guess it is really bad out that way. One of my friends said she'd NEVER seen anything like this and I read about a fatal car accident in San Fran because of the snowy roads! Take care, hon.
What the hail! Those are good pics. We got a little but not thatr much.
Not only hail, but cold as hail today too. Mid 40's almost all day.
Well? Did you get to go?
65 and snow tonight, thats Indiana...
you folks need to get right with the Lord, over there on that Left Coast...
all my best,
JQP
What you had there hit us full force here. Ten dead in the midwest at least three in the surrounding counties... we got hit with hail and tornados...
it wasn't a good weekend for Alice.
But my puppy loved eating all the ice!
Political blogs? You read political blogs?
Eh. I think I have a headache.
Hail can do some pretty bad damage to vehicles. Funny the one poodle could care less while all the others were scared.
I laughed my frozen ass off at you people running around like it was the Apocalyse because it went down to the freezing point.
OMG, it was like a national disaster. One CA newscaster had a full parka with fringe on, and people were being told to stockpile food.
Ha ha! Yeah ha!
FYI, it was -5C Sunday when I changed the S-belt on my van, which I did in shorts and a sleeveless T-shirt, because it was so frigging hot out!
Stockpiling the food, that was classic.
:)
