Cool site for Music lovers of any genre.

Its called Pandora..as in,I presume, pandora's box. It's a child of the Music Genome Project. To pull some info from the MGP site: "On January 6, 2000 a group of musicians and music-loving technologists came together with the idea of creating the most comprehensive analysis of music ever.
Together we set out to capture the essence of music at the most fundamental level. We ended up assembling literally hundreds of musical attributes or "genes" into a very large Music Genome. Taken together these genes capture the unique and magical musical identity of a song - everything from melody, harmony and rhythm, to instrumentation, orchestration, arrangement, lyrics, and of course the rich world of singing and vocal harmony. It's not about what a band looks like, or what genre they supposedly belong to, or about who buys their records - it's about what each individual song sounds like.
Over the past 5 years, we've carefully listened to the songs of over 10,000 different artists - ranging from popular to obscure - and analyzed the musical qualities of each song one attribute at a time. This work continues each and every day as we endeavor to include all the great new stuff coming out of studios, clubs and garages around the world. "

Anywho..on Pandora you can create playlists. This is not new of course, but the music it matches to your tastes can be. I heard music from folks that I liked and had never listened to. I will of course buy some of it now. It gives you the opportunity to yea or nea what they choose for you to listen to..the computer ever diligent on finding something to please you based on all the factors listed above. You can make several types of playlists, easy listening, heavy duty or whatever turns YOU on..I would toss in a Joe Bonamass and then AC/DC..just to change it up...then something slow and harmonic like..James Taylor.

You gotta register, its simple and I dont think they sell your email addy's. I read an article on Slate.com about the MGP and their not a big fan of it, stating its a simple process..but I am easily amused so wtf..check it out if your bored.

Speaking of Pandora, I think I still haven't cut off my registration. I signed up for Pandora's subscription this past summer. It's a pretty cool music site.

That's great. Thanks for the link. They'll play 'matching' music for free, I see, without registering.
